Most noticable mod

Hoping that this will start a lot of conversation and be helpful to some... but, I was wondering what the most noticeable mod is, in terms of improving the performance of the TL.

I would say that supercharging/turbocharging are excluded due to the exorbitant price, however, everything else is fair game.

So... let the debate begin.

Noticeable to the driver or to observers?

Rear sway bar, tires for the driver.

Big double wing on the trunk lid for observers.

I'd say for the driver, although a big double wing on the trunk lid... yeah, that'd be noticeable.

I would have to say a suspension drop. I think visually it pulls the lines of the car together and also provides much more stability behind the wheel.

I would say intake or exhaust, both give a better feel in the seat of the pants as well as make the car sounds better.

From the performance mods that I have, i'd say its a toss up between the AEM CAI and the ATLP J-PIPE. The CAI was my first mod, definitely felt gains/pull from the "butt dyno" in the mid-upper range RPMs. Next was the J-pipe, and to me the gains felt were similar to the CAI, definitely noticable pull in the mid to upper range RPMs during WOT. The ATLP quads are the last of the 3 air flow mods i've bolted on and I didn't notice as much of a pull increase as I did with the CAI/J-Pipe. I do not have a hi-flow cat/race pipe which is probably my limiting factor for the catback exhaust (aside from some pre-cat deletes which I will never get).

Probably any of the exhaust mods, mainly the catback. I can't speak for the precats but that would probably be the most noticeable, for the standard engine mods. Would probably be good to split this discussion into "power", "handling" and "visual" mods or something along those lines.

What I don't get is how people can say an intake, any of them, are the most noticeable. From my experience (albeit limited) with CAI's on this car and previous, adding an intake adds more noise than anything. But, everybody has a different interpretation and opinion.....as it should be.

The precat deletes will yield the most gains, couple those with a catback exhaust or j-pipe and it'll enhance the gains of the precat deletes.

I would think its the precats. You feel them a lot more than anything else, but then again I also put them in at the same time as my RV6 Jpipe and Race pipe, and I already had a Greddy catback, so I dont know if my judgement is accurate enough. The CAI is more about noise (to me at least) and gas mileage. CAI is the best cheapest mod, unless you go for one of those Tornado things, I heard they add about 50whp

I'd say tires would make the most noticeable difference in handling.

As for engine mods, the UR pulley is arguably the most noticeable, although when I installed my CAI I felt a considerably harder pull as well. Plus, the sound is nice.
