Midpipe pictures

SO I finally remember to bring my camera to work today and put my car up on the rack to do the trans fluid and oil change...decide to update the pictures I took of my car from last year, mainly because I removed the middle muffler and replaced it with straight exhaust pipe.

And just for fun you can see the tint on my dirty ass car.

I also have two magnaflows in the back. It sounds pretty good, a lot deeper than when I had the first muffler on there.

PLEASE DO SEARCH...no just kidding. All the pictures are so spread out that I'll just include the rest of them.

This is an older picture when I first swapped out the mufflers and resonator. If you look you can still see that the first muffler is on the car. I didnt remove the midmuffler until Feb. 2005.

This is a picture of the driver side magnaflow. Notice how I decided not to weld completely around the outlet because I was unsure of how it was going to sound and if I didnt like it I wanted to easily be able to remove the OEM tip to reweld onto the OEM muffler. I love the exhaust sound now and have since welded up the tip.

This is the passenger side muffler. In order to get the rather large inlet to weld up easily I had to make a little slip using 2" exhaust pipe expanded to fit into the muffler. If I were to do this over again using the same muffler set up I would have ordered smaller inlet/outlet sizes.

Although seen in other pictures this is the resonator I installed after removing the OEM one. Initially I was worried that using a smaller resonator would give the exhaust a weird tone, so I opted for the longest one magnaflow made in the 2.5" inlet/outlet diameter. Now after experimenting around with the exhaust I would choose a 14" resonator body...give it a little deeper tone without sacraficing the mellow resonance.

I know I know. I'm planning on going to comptech to get it dynoed as soon as I'm finshed with school...getting all my stuff done and figuring out where I'm going to law school really cuts into the amount of free time I have. After June 19th I'll get some numbers posted unless I can manage a free weekday off of work and school before then.

I've been trying for some time to get one. I dont have a new video camera to get it that way and I dont have a digital recorder. If anyone in the bay area has anything to host sound clips and is willing to do it for me that would be cool.

Has your low-end torque suffered at all w/ the increased flow from your new magnaflows?

You know its been so long since I have driven with a stock exhaust on my car I have forgotten how it feels. I do have an extra OEM system that I will put on when I get my car dynoed because I want to have baseline and then increase numbers. Hopefully this happens soon so I can have more than just pictures to share with everyone.

My former car, a 2002 Altima SE, received a Frankencar/Apexi intake (short straight ram.. better than the Injen for the Altima), a UR UDP (Unorthodox Racing Under Drive Pulley), and a full Mossy catback exhaust. The Mossy system allowed quite a bit of low RPM droning into the cabin so I installed a Magnaflow 10436 4"x22" resonator. The Mossy came with the 14829 cans out back.

Nice power improvement and the Frankencar/Apexi (which I still have) had the added benefit of increasing torque across the power band.
