Is there anyway to do this mod so u can replace it for warranty reasons ??? Or is basically once u hack it out its never gonna go back in? who makes the pipe that goes there? or do u just weld a piece in its place ??

Have a shop install flanges on the pipe if you want to change it back to stock; or at least to make the swap easier

I have a 07 Type-S and got this mod done for 50 dollars. I think my car now sounds like it should sound from factory. You can tell the difference for sure, theres a growl at low rpms that i love. I got a flange installed and its easy to switch back to stock, but im sure you wont regret doing this mod.
Good luck.

Just did my mid-muffler removal and after market resonator (Dynamax) install today on my 2007 TL Type-S.
Resonator was $40.00. Remove mid-muffler & install resonator $95.00.
Shop gave me back the mid-muffler and factory resonator in 1 long piece so it can be reinstalled easily.

Check out this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/wtb-2-2-2-3-aem-cai-130133/

By the way......... It sounds great!!

So some people are putting just a straight pipe in the mufflers place while others are going with this dynomax resonator???/

Check page 22 here (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130133).

you can go with a straight pipe which will result you in a louder setup compared to the dynomax. Either one will be a bit louder than stock, just depends on how much louder.

I know this is a little off topic but have anyone hacked their Comptech exhaust in any way yet? I'm kinda hesitant to mess with my precious Comptech, haha! Any ideas?

Dr Dug ... Any pics of your car debadged? So Do you think if I just take out the mid muffler and leave everything else alone completly , Just putting a pipe in place of the mid muffler , would that do anything at all for sound quality?
