MFactory 3/4 straight cut gears

I recently contacted MFactory and found they have 7 sets from the initial HPD run for sale.

They are quite expensive @ $1119.95 plus shipping.

If you're interested, contact Patrick Seto and mention part #MF-TRS-01JSA.

Does Mfactory rate these gears with hp/tq numbers?

Or just buy three or four sets. They're cheap, lol. Can these guys mill a final drive for us? Competition drives down prices.

That was HMA/HPD's target. Not sure if there's any headroom left. I'll shoot Patrick an email. More money....this thing is eating cash like I'm getting a divorce. My wife is a saint, just says "If we can afford it, I don't care".

They shift great and run with no issues. Unless you noticed the whine you would not know they were there. Patrick said"This will fix your issue".
We are running 19lb of boost and 532whp and 460ftlb of torque.
So far so good.

I'm with ANX. Did they mention anything about a Final Drive? I'm assuming they wouldn't be using it on their Boosted Odyssey, but it would be nice to have 2 options (MFactory & TB Motorworx). I know Morgan had asked a couple years ago and they said with enough demand, they would probably do it.

EDIT: Just emailed them.

Seriously? How many people are going to drop enough coin to do something like this?

Be happy that there is even an option. Every single performance shop that listed J series performance parts abandoned it within a year or less.

The only reason that there are straight cut gears for our 6MT is because HPD paid for the tooling. Even with that, these things are expensive. But if you want your stuff to hold up to serious power, you have to spend a lot of money.

I heard back from Patrick, he says it should take another 100hp or so but also recommends that you do a WPC treatment and add a cooler. Not sure about the cooler, do MT really get hot enough to break down the fluid?

Easy compadre, I currently have the TB Motorworx Final Drive....Morgan asked because he was interested as I'm sure many J swap owners will be. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Yes, seriously. I think you'd be surprised how many people (Accord guys probably 2 to 1 over TL guys) would jump on this if the price was half what TB Motorworx is charging ($1200). The ring and pinion can be had from Acura for ~ $330. Competition will make that $1200 price tag drop like a horny girl's panties on prom night.

All speculation, small companies rarely go on that. This platform has been around and been used for a long time, if it hasn't happened already chances are it still won't happen. The economy is no good and we've all witnessed people committing to buy on paper (forums), when the time comes to pony up, they all run like your supposed hot girls on prom night.

If it happens, good for you. But for now, I avoid things that make me see pink elephants and unicorns.

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for your email. We have not been able to garner enough interest
in the final drive but that option is certainly still open to explore.

We do require a 10 piece min. order and may be able to complete the kit
for around $700-$800 depending on the type of steel and treatments
required (this is determined by the customer with their specific power
requirements).

Cheers,

Not a big deal but apparently MFactory outsources things. Says it'll be here Monday. Will give me something to do while I wait for the internals.

Made in China.

Thought the price of $1,100 is being made here in the states.

Good news, if you want these gears, they arrive super quick.

The bad news, I had to write a check for $26.25 to UPS on top of paying $22.00 for shipping.....brokerage fees.

I emailed Patrick to see if this is a typical practice.....not my choice that they decided to outsource.

House buying has been quite the experience haha. Hopefully should be all over with in the next month. But thanks man.

Sucks that they are made in China though and that the $1200 is actually closer to $1250. Should be totally worth it though.

Just a quick update that I got refunded for the brokerage fees. Emailed Patrick and he took care of it.

Great company to deal with. Super fast with everything.

I'm pretty sure it will.

The case and motor bolt patterns are different from the J32 but I just quickly compared the 2008 to my 2006 6MT and there were many parts that had identical part numbers.

Check with MFactory, they may know.

My bet would be that they do work in the MT Type S trans. The internals of the trans are very similar, both have the same exact gear ratio/final drive.
