funny I spoke with three guys from magnaflow and they all agreed that the 4x9x11 would be the right muffler. I took my stock muffler off and measured it and IMO 14' muffler were too long...Mine sounds bad ass....I like it a little loud, and as someone else said turn the radio up, because if the drone ever bugs me that is what I do, and that hasn't happen since week one of having the exhaust.

I based my system off of your parts list, from hott exhaust. It just bugs me slightly between 2200 & 3000 rpm 40-75% throttle. John @ hott exhaust told me to go with a 6" diameter & 22" long resonator. I ordered it today(he gave me a killer deal)hopefully it will be here b4 weekend

alright, I just had the magnaflow #12436 resonator installed today, it cleared the 2k-3k droan beautifully. It also made it sound much deeper and a little quiter . I love the sound now... So for anyone looking for hp, and keep it semi-quiet this resonator w/2-14362 muffs should do the trick. The resonator is 6" diameter, so it hangs a little lower, but not to bad. I want to thank John @ Hottexhaust for helpin a brother out!!! Mad props

I think you have a typo. A #12436 is a 4" round.

Was it 22 inches long or 27? I wish I had a better memory, I was told what I wanted... And I was going to order it when I got home...

I placed an order today for the Magnaflow (#10436) 22" Resonator, two Magnaflow (#14362) Mufflers and a Magnaflow Y-pipe (#10758). I found a performance shop nearby that is willing to do the install once I get all the parts in.

Two questions:
Will the installer need additional stainless steel 2.25" pipe to complete the install?
Do the parts come with the intent that they be welded in place or are they supposed to be bolt on?

I ordered the 12640 resonator, and (2) 14362 mufflers. I had the custom shop also remove the mid muffler and replace that with stainless straight pipe. Had the job done Saturday and every time I drive, it sounds better. The tone is deeper at idle, and louder around 2000-3000 RPM. Tomorrow I'm installing my AEM CAI, so we'll see what difference this all makes. The only thing that just doesn't seem right is that the body of the resonator looks HUGE, and from underneath, it sits as low as the cat flange. I retained the stock tips, but brought them out about 1", making the inner top corner flush with cut-out in the bumper.

By the way-my shop guy has NEVER used clamps. Everything he does is welded in. He does ALL exhausts up to 5".

I had mine installed at Alamo Performance in San Antonio. My car was parked between 2 alcohol drag cars. . When I started, I asked him if he was going to do it again what would he have me buy differently.

He retained most of the stock pipe, which is mandrel bent, the stock Y. He suggested smaller size inlets and outlets on the muffler. 2 inch would have worked better. The Y was not usable, it put weird angles on the pipe. The 27 inch resonator was fine.

Thus, I'm going to return my Y-pipe it.. NO Y-Pipe needed...

First impressions: It now sounds like a car. Kinda a Mustang rumble at idle, it makes 20-30% more noise when accelerating; you can tell when you downshift... But, my intake makes more noise at full throttle. Its different, and that’s why I wanted it.

I’m happy.

Dragonlord, I'm thinking of doing what you did, can you tell me a bit more about the mid muffler that you had removed? If I did not do this, does it make a difference? And finally, if I get the 2 magnaflow exhausts and resonator as you mentioned, would you mind sharing me what it cost you in labor to get the job done. I have a friend that works on exhausts, so having a ball park number would be great. Thanks.

The mid muffler is the small muffler behind the resonator. I removed that and put in straight pipe. I ordered the 12640 resonator. It's large, but my muffler guy said the larger the quieter. The exhaust system has a nice deeper burble at idle and really sounds kick a** at 2500-3000. I've since installed my AEM CAI and that really balances the sounds of the car. My exhaust guy charged me $160 for the labor and pipe and custom work (he worked on the car for 2-1/2 hours). I'll try to take some pics this weekend, and hopefully some sound clips. He also moved back the stock tips so they match the bumper cover angles better.

Good luck

I didn't use the Magnaflow Y either and wonder how much diff in HP there would be if I put one in. I'm guessing that it won't make too much of a difference, anyone have an idea? I'm 2.75 to the Y and 2.25 after.
