Lowering my car

This is the TL I was talking about
Im planning on buying some new rims for my car, the specs are 245/35/19. The website i visited was VMR and im planning on buying some V10s in matte black for my 07 TL. On the website they have a TL exactly like mine with the rims I want on it. The TL showing off the rims has been lowered on coilovers and has a little bit of negative camber. Im trying to get that exact look that he has. Im just not sure how I should go about lowering my car, I dont know anything about that stuff, what are the different ways, what are the pros & cons of coilovers and lowering springs. Also if anyone who reads this thread mind posting a pic of their TL on 245/35/19 without having their car lowered or anything? Plz give me your best advice and opinions, thanks!

He has 245/35/19 on 19x9.5 +33 VMR710FF and using Tein Street Flex. Fenders are rolled in the rear.

As to your question about lowering your car, there's no magic to it
Get coilovers, install it, adjust the height to your liking, enjoy it. An alignment is always needed after install so you'll need to get that done and set some money for it.
USUALLY it can stop there - but depending on how low you want to go, you would need to set aside money to get your fenders rolled.
It doesn't stop there for some people. Some people will introduce other things such as camber kits to dial a certain amount of camber.
I'd say the main things that have to be done when you get into the lowering game is to get coilovers, install them, get an alignment, roll your rear fenders.

Lowering springs aren't going to help you if you want the same look as the guy.
Coming from a guy that spent $350 on A-Spec Suspension, then $140 on Tein S-Techs before finally going to coilovers, you should just find used coilovers. Skip the lowering springs.

This is what it looks without lowering

Do you know how much rolling your fendera typically run for? And yeah without the lower theres too much of a gap, I definitely want my car lowered. Whats a good brand of coilovers to buy, and what do I need to lookout for when I install coilovers, like wear n tear and other things like that. I really domt wanna be that guy despite all the threads on this stuff, but I just find it easier making my own that way I know exactly where the thread is, preciate your help.

It can run from 60 upwards to 150 for both rear fenders to be rolled.

In my opinion, the best are coilovers are H&R, BC Racing, and Tein.

You don't need to really look out for anything when installing coilovers. The only real problem you can really run into is that sometimes the bolt that goes through the fork seizes up inside the bushing. This happened when I installed coilovers for a friend. I think it was because the last place that installed his lowering springs didn't tighten the bolt enough so water creeped inside and rusted. A problem I ran into was the pinch bolt head on the front fork snapped. I had to get a shop to remove my axle to remove the whole fork+shock assembly. I would blame myself for not using any PB Blaster. Maybe I tightened instead of loosened too, I've done that mistake before and I still do once in a blue moon.

Spray everything liberally with PB Blaster, NOT WD-40. As long as you keep spraying the bolts with PB Blaster for like a week, every single day, I don't see you running into any problems.

Preciate the help, and if you dont mind, what do people mean when they say ET 35 or whatever, is it how concave the bolt pattern is for the rims?

That's the offset of the wheel, so the higher the number, the more closer it is to the hub. The lower the number, the more the wheel sticks out from the hub.
Stock wheel offset is +45.
A wheel that has an offset of +35 (or ET 35) means the wheel sticks out 10mm more. So yes you can generally say that the lower the offset number, the more concave the wheel is.

And also, when you told me the guy in the picture had a +33, youre talking about his offset right?

You're welcome!

Yes correct +33 is the same as ET 33.
