Low budget Performance Upgrades

What are some low budget performance upgrades I can do to my 2006 TL w/Nav? I've been reading the posts, but many upgrades are in the thousands. I'm looking to spend under $1k for some basic handling, performance, and noise reduction. I'll probably purchase the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S tires, but what else do people recommend for smaller upgrades?

I do 130 miles a day on highway...economy and comfort are the biggies!

I'd say you could do the Progress rear sway Bar, Do either spring set up eibach or comptech springs, Intake, and possibly either the p2r spacer or a pulley.

Only performance improvement that would meet your requirements is lightweight wheels. Enkei RPF-1, for example. They are about 10 pounds lighter than stock wheels each. You will get slightly better acceleration, braking, gas millage and noticeably better ride quality. $1k will do the trick.

Cold air intake would create a lot of noise, rear sway bar would compromise your ride quality

better tires -

rear sway bar - progress

springs/suspension

cold air intake

and J-pipe ~ all together should be right around 1k.

Oops, didn't see the noise reduction comment until just now. Yes CAI would create more noise and more aggressive tires might create more noise too. RSB does firmen up the rear and cause less understeer but I don't think it sacrifices ride quality that much.

Agree with most of the above. Wheels and tires will probably make one of the biggest differences as well as the sway bar. If you're looking for the best value and power gains, you could probably put together a tire, jpipe and used CAI or TB spacer combo for under 1k if you were a thrifty shopper.

stop arguing on this, excelerate has shown his dynos and there has been a debate on it. If you want it, buy it, if you feel that it doesn't work, don't buy it. Any more of it continues and action will be taken. Thread has been cleaned up.

The thread is going off-topic and the TB spacer has been discussed over and over...we should keep it to legitimate recommendations for the OP.
