There is no one that makes it, you could go out and buy a K and N filter, but that does nothing. What I recommend you do is remove the resonator from the intake, theres a thread about that here, somewhere.

If you search I think you'll find that a drop in K&N doesn't get you anything performance or sound wise. If you're going to go to the trouble of removing the stock resonator then you might as well go all out and get the AEM. Nice sound and a little performance increase.

Please forgive if I have posted into the wrong forum.

I was thinking of changing the stock intake system, but not sure to what and how to change the air filter??

Any suggestions?

if you gain nothing with a k&n, you atleast get a servicable filter that wont need to be replaced...i still think, key word being think, that you will get something from a k&n, but not much...i have had k&n in all my cars/motorcycles for the last 20+ years, i think they work...

But the stock filter will last MANY MANY miles, and is half the price... so you're not really saving any money...

Hi All,

I just purchased a K&N drop in filter (33-2299, I think is the correct model #) for $37.04 on Amazon.com to replace the original stock filter (haven't changed since I purchased the car since Oct '03). How often do I need to change the filter?? Is it better to change the whole system altogether. Not sure what to change to??? If I do, how often do I change the filter then?? Also how do I change the filters because of the way it is placed in a lower position?? Do I need to take the front bumper off every time I change the filter??

thank you for any advice you can give me!

i believe the newest part number for the tl is 33-2379, and the k&n is a serviceable unit...means you just clean and reoil it and its as good as new...never need to buy a new one....

does that mean the 33-2299 that I just purchased will not fit? or is 33-2379 for the newest TL??

i just checked the k&n website...looks like for an 05 you have the right part number...they must have changed the airbox or something, its just slightly different...

i just installed my k&n, and without even driving the car i can tell you that there is going to be a difference...the old filter was just way too restrictive compared to the new one...i will reset my mid and keep an eye on the mpg's and report back...

btw, after only 3500 miles my air filter was pretty dirty...i was suprised by how dirty...

Due to my expereince over the last month, let me offer the following:
The '05 TL, and the '07 TL-S are not the same airbox, and the drop ins are not interchangeable.
I personally did not feel any difference in hp or gain any mpg with the K&N drop in on my '07 TL-S.
I successfully installed the K&N short ram from my '05 TL onto my '07 TL-S. With the additional length of my P2R thermoblock/spacers, it necessitated a smaller battery for clearance. I installed a Braille battery, which is not only smaller, it saves 25-30lbs. off the front end weight. Surprisingly, on these cold mornings, my car cranks faster than with the stock battery. K&N is the only CAI mfr. that I know of that makes a convertible short/long ram intake. It negates the lack of hp gained by only sucking in engine heat. It is a longer length short ram that curves downward and tucks nicely just above the cold air intake piping of the stock system once the filter box is removed. It also minimizes any risk of hydrolock. Best of all worlds IMO. I can actually "chirp" the tires on my '07 TL-S A/T on the 1-2 shift using the paddles and the VSA turned off. Until the vtec energizes, it is so quiet that you would swear it was stock.
TWOBUTTONS: I do not know of anyone that would make what you're looking for. You might want to consider my system as an alternative. You probably would not require a battery change on your '05.

The good ol remove the lower intake resonator box (huge restrictor to airflow) and install a K&N filter for its better flow is a great cheap easy method, and stealthy too.
The engine then has a large area to pull air from, the lower panels have water drains, and the actual airbox bottem is so high up- your car would be flooded before water hit the intake

Since installing the AEM, I also have been able to get a chirp on the 1-2 shift with the auto!

Good times... lol

COOL
Mine doesn't feel like the same car when I get in it. I like the fact that it feels so docile until then. Got an added 2-3 mpg to boot.
