Little to no Catback gains on the 07-08 Type-S?
I remember shortly after I bought my 08 Type-S I was talked out of buying an after market exhaust ,because I was told our cars had a desent flowing exhaust already and I would see very little power gains from an aftermarket exhaust.
Fast forward two years and I've forgotten all about those wise words untill now.
I just recently decided on buying a Comptech exhaust and wondering if it was such a good idea. I'm looking for sound/performance/quality.
What's everyone's thoughts?

From what I've read on here, some people are gaining around 10-15whp with an exhuast, so I'd say we're getting some decent gains for a car that doesn't have a full tune available for it.

Yeah that's my point, two years ago our cars were new to the streets and not many people had Aftermarket exhaust, so this is a myth.

I'm pretty sure the Comptech is only second to the Tanabe as far as tameness for catbacks on our cars.
BLKURA. Any reason you didn't go with a quad-tipped exhaust? I know the only (new) option right now is the XLR8 catback but won't the Comptech single tips look a little strange in your Type-S bumper openings?

And, Greco has the Greddy on his Type-S. I just don't remember what it looked like. Just seemed like the tips would look out of place in the openings, not a big deal.
Btw, when and where did you get the Hiro's? Looks good on your car. Those are one of my top choices if/when I pull the trigger on wheels. But, heard they were out of production.

You would gain maybe 12whp most out of an exhaust. But if u want loudest Greddy Evo2, not to loud comptech, sexy souding atlp. But u would get most gains out of Greddy, and atlp.

Yeah I went with the Comptech, strictly because the other were to loud for my liking. Although I havn't heard the Excelrate version. Oh well it's to late, all ready ordered from Josh. Just wish I could change the tips on the comptech to be quads.

I'm second guessing the fitment of the Comptech vs. the quads. It doesn't look to bad in the pic above. More or less it's come down to sound more then anything. I have a 3 year old son who will be in my ride a few times per week. I can't have an ATLP/Excelerate quad with tons of drone for that reason.
Oh well, if it looks to bad, I'll sell it and get the excelerate version and deal with the drone.

... Back on topic I think the Comptech will suit your needs.
