Lightweight pulley options for 3.5 tls
K so I forgot my bro could also use this mod as I have it on my car and I noticed a huge difference with the lightweight pulley.
I have an under drive on my car but I don't like the under drive cause the voltage drops when everything is running and I don't like causing an issue with a mod so I am going to opt for him to just get the lightweight pulley.
Is there any brand in particular I should get. Not unorthodox they are a rip off.
I bought my pulley for 30 shipped off ebay and it's been the best mod for the price.
There is his one on ebay.

I think that one should fit the bill. I just wanna make sure that's the right one lol. Cause I dunno what his pulley looks like.

cant you just make one big performance thread instead of asking itty bitty performance questions every where?
I promise you, you will get the same answers if you just keep one big thread open.
so, instead of making a new thread every time a thought pops in your head, you can just keep it in one place.
like an online journal.

You are totally right, highly efficient and tested parts from reputable companies like UR and XLR8 are rip offs. Buy all your shit on Ebay. not only will you save money you will be supporting continued copy write and patent infringement from other countries.
9/10 times you buy ebay you spend twice as much down the road to get it done right or get the power you are wanting from the original. there is a saying I am hesistant to share cause its a good quote and not many people know it...... if it gets out to much it could change the world....................................YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
buy reputable stuff and enjoy your car for a long time. Buy Ebay and you are back on Ebay looking for the next savings deal to fix something your crap ass part broke cause it was a knock off!

That eBay link resembles our XLR8 pulley but who knows if it is or not. We have our pulleys in stock and ready to go:

CLS already knew that answer...
he pretty much knew it in his original post and thus why i gave a snarky answer .
CLS, if you are okay with an ebay product that might or might not fail, go ahead and purchase it for your brother.

Maybe there are horror stories of a particular brand I dunno. Hats why I asked.
Before I bought my 30 dollar option racing pulley I made a thread and tried to see if it really was a piece of shit. I felt for 30 I'd try it. It's the cheapest mod I have done and has not caused me one hassle aside from the fact it's an under drive which kills power at idle as I said.
Other followed my lead and they were all thoroughly impressed.
I agreed 9 times out of ten u buy cheap u buy twice.
But a pulley is no more than an aluminium blank with a cnc file.
You could buy one, lazer scan it and then made as many as u want after. So IMHO it seems there is nothing proprietary about a certain brand of pulley.
If mine was imbalanced it has not caused a problem in 100000 miles so.. That's why I am leaning on the side of a cheaper pulley

Look at it this way, price to buy a music CD and or DVD has been the same for 10+ years. the cost of equipment to make has gone down, cheaper and easier to produce yet price stays the same? because the option to pirate and or copy is now more readily available so they have to continue to keep the price the same to raise their margins to stay profitable.
you complain about the price going through a vendor but that price is higher because they need to make more in margin to pay their bills cause some china man, Indonesian, or CNC operator in their garage is knocking off parts and at a fraction the price. by continuing to buy from them you are also contributing to the continued high price of the original and putting strain on the economy and businesses. it is because of you, and only you that the world is going to a shit hole in a such a quick and unforeseen fashion.
Thank you and end rant! no go buy quality stock from quality vendors and stop crying about pricing or get yourself a civic! Oh, and I assure you that your china knock off, Indonesian Copy or CNC buddy does not have the same Qaulity assurance standards in place as the quality vendors. 1 out of every 50 is shit and will mess your ride up while through XLR8 1 out of ever 1000 is missed during QC check. I'll take those ods to sleep better at night and drive harder during the day with ease of mind. NOW END RANT!

The XLR8 Pulley by UR is 0 gram balanced and CNC machined. Is the competition balanced to spec?
