i have a 04 tl and ever since i installed a kn short air intake i have a rough idle and when i turn off the car in cold temps it sounds like it sucks in a mass amount of air. i have had kn intakes in other vehicles and never had any issues like this. other than making it sound meaner i have not noticed any performance increase with the kit. has any else had any good or bad issues with intakes on tl?

 

Double check all your connections, clean the filter, etc. If nothing helps, put the stock intake back on and see if the rough idle goes away.

Rough idle may be caused by old motor mounts.

I've had a K&N CAI for over two years with no issues whatsoever.

That's because you probably actually lost power putting an SRI on a car that has a decent oem intake. Even the best CAI is only going to add a few horse anyway; not enough to feel a difference.
