I made 310 wheel horse in a stock Tls motor. Couldnt imagine what a turbo k20 build would cost to make 310 wheel horse.

I doubt it has run across any of our minds. getting 310 WHP out of a k20 on the TL will cost almost double than getting 320 WHP out of a 3.5 TL.

Um although the torque #'s would be sucky.... A built k24 out of a tsx would be a far better swap

Aswell as a nice turbo.... Without the turbo the swap is worthless really

The k24 should hold anywhere from 15 to 25lbs on a pretty hefty turbo to make 400hp

a k series engine has a LOT more potencial compared to the j series...

The 3.5liter j series NA can do is like 260-265whp...

A K24 NA well build can do 300+ whp! go to k20a.org and see !

you do have to remember that there is not to many parts for the J35 vs. the K24 at this time. Only parts that are available to the J35 people are custom ones which are down-right expensive. If a 3rd gen TL wanted to have a k24 in it, and you really wanted it, you could jerry-rig the front of a 03-07 4cyl accord...

all you need is a 7th gen accord k frame or subframe whatever its called these days

Using 4cyl accord mounts, all the other parts... So on and so forth and u'd get plenty of gains

Would it make sense in the long run nah cuz might aswell throw it in a beatup hatch and be 3full second faster hehehehehe

I'd personally rather do a K20A3 than a K24A2. ALOT more potential in that engine imo. Those things are crazy with boost.

it would be too pricy, and less displacement=less torque. better off trying to make a supercharger work.

If you want to be inventive, do something, built/turbo'd etc. to the Jseries and work with a company to mass produce a kit -- help everyone else out. You'd get more props for that than putting a smaller 4 cycl. engine in a big family sedan. 300whp in a RSX is a lot different than 300whp in a TL. Weight much?

Still... why?

a car that already came as a v6...

Boost that K24 and put it in the TL.

Same lbs of boost and I'll boost my J and we can go at it.

Horrible idea. If we're talking about pulling the engine out of the car to swap a "built" 4 cylinder, why not install a "built" J series. It's not rocket science, just not a lot of people that have done it. There are any number of shops that given the time and money could build you a killer J-series.

If we're building the motor, lower the compression to 9:1 with some nice pistons and rods. Run the stock crank and block. Ported heads, bigger cams, ported intake manifolds and a blower or turbo running 12-15psi. 15psi on a stock J series with lower compression should put you in the 450-480hp range and you will have some actual torque too.

None of it is worth it to me but it makes a lot more sense it we're going this extreme to build up the 6 banger. Comparing a stock or bolt-on J-series to a built anything isn't exactly a fair comparison.

With the money it would take to make that work, you could build the J series and turbo it, and make about 120 more hp and a helluva lot more torque than a K20.

Interesting idea, but woth it? Hell no.

Like everyone said, for all the money, it's not worth it. Swapping out a 6cyl for a 4cyl is pointless. The TL is not a light car, it needs torque just to move the damn thing.

J series + boost = Monstarrr
