K-Tuned shifter experience?

I searched but didn't find anything. Does anyone here have experience with the K-Tuned shifter? It looks amazing and if it can give the shifter a 'direct connect' feel, I think it would be worth the cash.

I can't see that price being justifiable at all. What's your current shifter setup? Have you done all the bushings, short shifter, weighted knob, etc? or stock?

I don't have a short shifter yet - mainly because it's not a true full replacement rod, just the small pivot. As far as a knob goes, I just despise a solid metal knob because of the temperature transfer, so I'm using a 2012 Civic SI knob which is a leather wrapped metal knob and its weighted pretty well. It's the single best shift knob I've ever found.

By the bushings, do you mean the ones on the transmission to the cables? I had some, but I didn't feel like it was an improvement at all. It just made it more resistant. I didn't get the spherical bushing ones, so maybe I need to try them first.

I would think that the shifter bushings would still be useful if I got this shifter as well. The price is pretty steep, but if it makes the shifter feel like a top loader, it might be worth it. I know the RSX one has billet shifter stops, but I couldn't tell if they worked on this one. The only bad thing would be having something that looks so cool hidden in the console.

Yeah the bushings on the cables made the biggest difference for when combined with the short shifter. I've had the comptech SS for almost 5 years now and it's been fantastic, no problems whatsoever. The solid shifter base bushings won't have as big an impact as the cable bushings but does make the shifter assembly basically solid with the chassis, which would/should help make it feel better to you.

I'm happy to hear you say that it's a shame to have the mod hidden by the console, IMO you're paying a lot for the "show" aspect of this part that is instantly ruined by a console.

Very simular to the Mugen set up I had in my FG2. Be a good set up for 1/4 mile setup.

If you have the money and have't bought the Short throw then it should be a nice set-up. I like that fact that they have the option of going with a taller stick and adjustable throws. Plus the thing looks solid! Shame it hides under all that plastic but maybe its a good thing...?

I have the Mavin counter-sunk weighted shift knob, short throw extension and the Hybrid Racing cable bushings. Works great, makes the shifter feel like a toggle switch. I've had this set-up for about 2 years with no issues. Now, I wish I could get the shifter feel that I get in my Integra but that's a different animal.

Check out HeelToe Automotive, he has this set-up there for $379.99 with free shipping!

We are actually posting up a sale on this shortly. I should have it up by the end of day. When we heard this product release last week we were very excited for the 3G TL platform.

K-Tuned makes great stuff. Yonkersracing has one for his RSX and loves it.

Doh...It's only been out for a week? No wonder no one has tried it. Hmm..depending on how much your sale is, I might be tempted.

Also, I wouldn't buy it for the 'look' but with something engineered so nice, it would be pretty slick to see it.

I'm still considering the shifter - your price is great. I would suggest changing the description as some of it only applies to the RSX shifter, not the TSX/Accord/TL one.

Just wanted to bump this thread.

Been debating on pulling the trigger for this item. Im sure someone has to have purchased one by now. I would imagine it is a great mod, I would just love some feedback on it. Also any installed pics if there are any would be nice!

I forget the guys name, but there is a person on the forum that has some Bisi cams and he has it. He said he liked it. Not sure what the pics would do since you cant really see it once its installed...

I'm still debating it as well. I did get a short shifter and it was a big improvement along with shifter bushings.
