You didn't buy the engine, you bought the transmission.

I was just reading that 2. Its just the transmission. "FOR SALE TRANSMISSION ONLY, NO COMPONETS OR WIRE HARNES"

I would imagine a shop would charge you somewhere in the range of 1000 to 1500 to install. I'm guessing totally here based on a friend of mine needing to have his civic engine replaced in highschool.

Either way, pretty good deal...and you can probably offset the cost by selling your engine afterward. Just know you're getting into serious stuff and you will more than likely be more "married" to the car because the engine won't match the vins on anything else etc...just my opinion but not sure how that will affect resale. I personally, wouldn't touch it.

I'm assuming its a short block only. If thats the case buy some heads, a type-S tranny and ECU and a really good mechanic

so you bought a motor not knowing what you wanna do with it only because it was cheap? and trying to turn ur car into a type s? do u know if it runs? do u know if the block isnt damaged from the crash? and like Ussi said...if its only the short block, you'd need heads, and tranny, if thats the case...a brand new internally assembled short block from the dealer is 1100-1200, and you dont pay for shipping, u pick it up at the dealer...this is running u about 1 grand.

you can't just throw a type S ECM into ur 05, ECM harness is different. I dont mean to discourage you or make u regret the buy, as im sure someone would take that off ur hands even if it doesnt run, but just saying. my experience tells me...the money ur spending on trying to rig a type s inside that shell, needing a new tranny, ECM, harnesses and the whole 9... the turbo would cost you less,
What rockstar143 said on the vins not matching...well if ur keeping the car...who gives a shit...even if u dont...someone will take it..
I have an 06 3.2 inside an 04 shell, some wanna buy it! but i aint selling.
either way, goodluck

why do you assume its the short block only?

unless i missed it somewhere, looks to me its the whole long block, which usually come with the coilpacks, injectors, etc,... why would anybody take off the heads and sell just the short block with only 4k on the motor??

I spoke with the seller on the phone, becuase i too was trying to get the motor. It is an almost complete longblock. Full motor, just no accessories. From the oilpan to the top of the intake manifold everything is there. No coilpacks, injectors, or wireharness was included. He told me he would included the type s precats for an extra $70 each. Please sell to me dave, you will not regret it.

Opel...c'mon...NOBODY wants your 04 with an 06 motor...I mean, it's missing the slave cylinder checkvalve for goodness sakes!

I guess I didn't realize there was such a market for motor swappage. Maybe cause it intimidates me it's just never been an option. To the OP...good luck man! I'm sure it'll be a crazy project with much reward.

cant see the link from work. but i would take the internals and put them into your 3.2 get a greddy emanage and tune it.

call it a day.

if ur trying to go type-s you shouldve done your research.

type-s has a diff tranny, ecm, wiring harness, and other small bits

Maybe should have bought a type-s and swapped the exterior over to make it look like a base? May have been easier, and maybe less expensive.
