Well, let me put it this way, LOL, I had a J35 in my AT AV6, 2nd/3rd gen TLs and 2nd gen CLs and 7th gen AV6 all use the same 5AT, within 4 months I blew my perfectly good running tranny, after tearing it down to see exactly what failed I noticed EVERY friction plate in first gear was cracked into multiple pieces, I guess doing 1st thru 2nd gear burnouts with 235 width Yokos was not a good idea, LOL, so yeah they can be put in AT cars, but I won't warrenty the life of the tranny.....

The meet is on the 31st of May. I have the link on my sig.
I'd hope your car should be ready for it without the blower. I drive 60 miles back and forth a day as well.
I'm at 360 Miles right now until I could get her back in running form when the harness comes.

Ok been working on trying to figure out when to have one this month. I am very busy with training for my Doctorate degree, teaching, taking care of the kids and helping paul with his things. I've been thinking April 19th or 26th, they are both sunday's. Any input from you guys on what would be better for you all will help me out.

Actually I ran a G motor (F22 bottom H23 head) for a good 3 years at 11:1 with 10-12PSI tuned with Hondata of course and added a knock sensor. And would routinly do highway runs to 150MPH, the motor did not break, I sold it with compression still spot on, so it is possible, but requires work to make it reliable.
Unfortunately there's no safety cushion there. Look at the average person on this site, they don't have even the basics of tuning down, they just blow engines up left and right and then repeat the process. You need a margin of safety so the average joe can drive it with the pedal to the floor whether it's 20 degrees outside or 110 degrees.
Let's face it, no one here is going to monitor knock, fuel pressure, AF ratio, etc. I don't know why but that's the way it is. That's why it needs a mild tune or lower compression.

You may get away with it for a while. Especially if you have a way to monitor knock full time and you can tune. I don't doubt that since you know what you're doing.

True. but werent we all at that stage at one point in life? i know i was. you learn at you progress. some people just refuse to learn is the point i think you're trying to make. they'd rather just do trial and error 100 times till they get it right rather than the right way the first or second time

An AF guage, fuel pressure and knock monitoring are not optional, they are mandatory to run a blower. No one ever listens. I predicted the blown engines a year ago, no one listened.
All information is out there, people refuse to learn. It doesn't help that they're running boost on top of a high compression engine. The margin for error is smaller. In my turbo car I won't run it hard at the full 29 psi unless the laptop is hooked up even if someone is harassing me. It's just not worth a blown engine.
The sad thing is, with the way the TL's heads and intake flow, with a built bottom end the potential is there for 600hp with a turbo and high boost with mostly stock everything else but no one takes the time to do it right.

You're right but some people refuse to do the necessary research beforehand. This board is the worst I've ever been on in that regard.

I hate cars, you can make an engine do all kinds of crazy things, but I think we both know a 600hp tl would be undriveable. That amount of power to a FWD car would get you a lot of smoke, a lot of noise, and not a lot of speed. If you want something that fast, get a turbo e46, not a TL. It'll cost less, handle better, and most importantly, handle the extra power better.
I do agree though that if you're going to boost your car, you need to monitor at bare minimum boost and AF. Then again you could go all out and make this your interior...
Also note the vertical doors!

I am trying to gauge interest in having a meet at my place on April 19 @ 2:00 pm. This is also the same weekend that PigPig will be here. This is also a working weekend for Paul since he will be working on his car. We can not bother him to much or get in Paul's way.
