J35 turbo maintenance

I am looking into buying a tl type s with a precision 6062 turbo. it currently has about 55k miles. should i expect problems and high expenses right away or will i be able to enjoy for a while before having to drop some serious cash? and what kind of daily maintenance should i be doing for a turbo?

Is this the one in Portland? If so I would stay away.

have a compression and a leak down test done.
if results come back positive; then drive the car!!

but I have to say; if you're not mechanically inclined and something does go wrong; what are you going to do?

Plus as everybody has said, why would you put a 6 grand turbo kit on a really nice type s with low miles and sell it? blows my mind. prolly has problems. get a PPI done (pre purchase inspection) at a shop of your choosing and do a compression test and leak down test to search for internal problems. If it comes back all clear then MAYBE look into buying it, but idk still seems sketch.

To be able to ask a question like this; I am assuming you have little to no knowledge on turbo maintenance. If so, you should probably stay away and just get a N/A TL-S

More often than not, buying a used modded car is buying someone elses headache. Run far away unless it's cheap enough you could part it out or flip it. It's one thing if it has some baby mods but a used non-factory forced induction car... way too many things could go wrong.

Wow.. I feel bad for the person buying this car. Sad part is.. it's eventually going to get sold to someone. Just a matter of time.

Its things like that that make me not wanna play with FI anymore. The guy I bought my last vehicle from was only selling it to buy another one that was already supercharged, thought he was getting the deal of a century, drove the new one for 2 hours and trashed the engine and was shortly out another 10K. I supercharged my Impala for a while and as soon as I did that it stopped being a daily driver and I bought a second car, and then stopped driving it. Finally sold my supercharger and the car is fun again. I'm not bashing FI but there's way too many things that can go wrong quickly that I'm done with it for a while.

^ That is because most peolpe do not know how to properly build a FI car. For N/As tuning is the primary key and having a well build motor to suffice the boost is another.
