J&R ECU Video's

Rodney asked me to create some video's on the computer side of the ECU.

I have one that shows how to save a tune:

And another that walks you through the firmware upgrade process, in this case Pre1.1Beta19. Ignore the rambling at the end about the cal settings. I'm going to try and create one more video on that once I understand completely what the differences are.

Let me know if you have any questions. These were taken working directly on my ECU in my garage using a screen recorder.

Yes, the first video on saving your tune will do this for you. You can also initiate the logging from TunerStudio. Just make sure the project is created with the same version of firmware you have currently loaded to avoid the signature mismatches. As long as you don't burn anything to the controller, you won't mess anything up.

When I first got my ECU I was really hesitant on doing anything. But it is very straightforward once you understand the basics.

Do you see a USB to Serial connection in device manager? That will tell you what port it is using.

Have you tried just accepting it to see if it connects? Especially with the bluetooth unit, I have trouble getting it test successfully.

Also, make sure the port on your PC is setup for the correct speed (115200) to match the speed of the MS3.

If you are using a map sensor, then you specify the type there. I think you are running fixed maps so it doesn't apply to you.

VE Analyze Live doesn't come with the Lite version. Should just ask your tuner if he needs it.

Just remember to get the beta version if you are going to use the higher level beta firmware. At least drop 16 and above requires it.

They're on my photobucket account.

You could try installing their app to see if it helps.

I would put them on YouTube for you but I have WAY too many irons in the fire at the moment. Until it's snowing here again, I won't have time.

Sorry......
