J-pipe help
^ this is partially true, aftermarket J-pipes are made in mind to increase exhaust flow and reduce restriction. This is done on all of the pipes with equal length runners, better construction, smoother bends and merges, etc.
^ People do need to research and this is precisely why it's best to leave a "brand" or "vendor" out of the mix and just talk about the actual part and it's affect.

I think creating a thread under the guise that you're trying to get all the info in one thread (because of all the clutter throughout other threads) when it's clear you want vendors to answer your specific questions about the products to help you make a decision and then trying to corral people back into that thread as if it's the end all/be all jpipe thread is where the problem lies.
Me, personally, I went with the V3 RV6 one...cost a little more but yields the most gains, is drop friendly, and is very pretty
Plus, his "quantity left" on the website (down to 2 and now 1) and the fact that I just did my taxes was all the push I finally needed. I'm hoping I'm as happy as everyone else seems to be with it.

Since some people get their exhaust custom made and it comes a fair bit cheaper than purchasing from vendors, why don't people get J-pipes custom made too? I don't know much about this but isn't it just piping. By the looks of it from V3 pictures it seems pretty easy for a reputable exhaust shop to make it. 3 flanges, 2 flex pipes and some piping. Or an I missing something entirely and this is just crazy talk.
I am asking because I got quoted 650$-750$ for a full custom cat back exhaust depending on mufflers and tips I choose. It may be 80$ cheaper if going without a resonator (depending how loud it may be) and 2.5" piping splitting into 2.25" before the mufflers (just like some aftermarket exhaust). So for a j-pipe to be made I can't see it being more than 300$.

I tend to agree with that...I actually thought of that too initially.
BUT...seeing as how there are 3 version now, one producing more hp than the next and the complex welds and research on smoothest airflow etc...I think for the extra hundred bucks you're almost better off paying for the premade one. Then, you can go custom exhaust from that point back.

I am not sure what our stock exhaust diameter is. I thought it was 2.25" all through out?

I can't remember either, I think I had gotten the one I THOUGHT it was and it ended up sliding INTO the resonator. I guess the smaller diameter in 2 locations WOULD create some turbulence/backpressure.
