J-pipe or AEM V2
J-pipe or AEM V2
Like the thread line is asking i have some funds to blow should i first get the atlp j-pipe with high flow cat (to avoid getting pulled over due to gas smell) or get a aem v2 cold air intake looking for the best first mod for my sweet 05 tl along with some tein coilovers opinions welcomed thanks summer coming need and the mod bug is coming.
Well, first of all, welcome!
Why would you smell like gas? Are you running catless?
I think the majority of people install the CAI first... I'm not saying its the "right" order because there really isn't one IMO.
I vote AEM V2.

well thanks for the welcome I thought I started on of those new member threads but I'm still debating either v2 or jpipe looking to get the most hp power gains for a first mod an to sound not so quiet lol an also I thought a high flow cat is just like a test pipe with a 02 sensor dummy
We all know intake is just a noise maker. Nonetheless I would do both, but if I had to chose it would be the J Pipe hands down. J Pipe is like an instant 10-15 HP gain and torque to go with it. And this is proven and documented. Can't say the same for the intake.
Most of the sound clipse are with both v2 and j pipe

^Same here.
I would go to J-pipe first. I'm doing J-Pipe first just because I decided not to get an intake. It "frees" up HP slightly which is slightly proven and gives a better sound, but since I live in Texas, I don't want to take a risk for hydrolocking my engine since it rains a lot in summer and throughout the year.

the 3rd cat doesnt have an 02 sensor. hi flow cat cleans the air and flows better than stock, the test pipe doesnt clean the air and is resonated , the last one is the race pipe and that is just a straight tube.

I'm really not sure I fully understand why we're installing intakes on our car to begin with? Seriously, does it even give us any noticible gains?
Go with the J-pipe!
