Model: 2007 TL Type-S
Intake: AEM V2
P2R Spacer: No
Whistle: 1-2,000 RPM.
I can hear it if I slowly accelerate, but after the first 2 gear changes, it's gone. Was kind of annoying, but I can only hear it when it's kind of quiet or my window's open. Doesn't bother me anymore, now. I consider it a nice little touch.

It is a whine, not a whistle. You can hear the whine become higher in pitch as the RPMs increase. It then starts with a lower tone when transmission shifts.
Year/Model: 06 AT Base
Intake: K&N Typhoon CAI
P2R Spacer: No
Whine: most noticeable from takeoff to around 40 MPH under normal driving conditions; loud. Riders complain.
My dealer blamed the CAI and voided the work ticket. It is probably worth while to put a call into K&N tech support and pick their brain.
Model: 2007 TL Type-S 6MT
Intake: AEM
P2R Spacer: No
Whistle: 2-3,000 RPM.
Not a whistle......sounds like a squealing belt and it's loud. It all depends on throttle position. I can get it to make the sound in every gear, even cruising in 6th on the highway. It's been a major drawback ever since I first heard it. I've read all of the threads about this and still can't figure out why some people have it and others don't.
I have a V2 to install to see if there's any change. I don't have high hopes but it's so annoying that it's actually worth it to me to find out. The last resort will be putting the stock intake back in. The couple additional hp isn't worth it for me.

Yeah this annoying whine just isn't worth it imo. I'd take it out by my stock intake is in pieces... I strongly believe it's the nipple causing the whine. When the air passes by the nipple it cause the whine.
What exactly is the purpose of the nipple anyway?

^ +1 - It is not a whistle.
I notice it (mostly) from 25 - 30 MPH. As soon as I get off the gas and coast, the whine disappears.
I do not believe the Intake is the culprit.

^It has to be the CAI. My car was stock and perfect and I put a AEM on there and I have a whine from 2-3k. A brake whine is the perfect description.
Has anyone tried a new filter? Cleaned filter? Different filter?

where can i get that cai....
Next Step
That whine is starting to annoy me and passengers bitch about it. Its embarrassing to have on a luxury vehicle.
Has anyone contacted AEM or K&N about the whinning?
04 TL Base, AEM CAI with reflective thermal wrap installed, Whistle is present between 2000 & 3000 rpms. The wrap works by the way. The CAI is much cooler after a long drive. Actually it's the outside temperature. The car is more responsive at operating temperature as well.
I put a longer screw in the nipple and wrapped it with teflon tape, most of the whine has gone away!
I got the whistle with a injen and is between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm by the way i have own various cars with intakes and never heard of this sound, I think it may be the desing of the intake for the TL

Whistle: Yes (thank god I'm not the only one)
Not really noticible when i'm driving like and old woman, but when I get on it, it's much more noticible right before it shifts.

Year/Model: 05 6mt
Intake: AEM V1 dryflow
P2R Spacer: No
Pulley: No
Exhaust: ATLP Base, Test, J-pipe
Whistle: No
I get a little "whoosh" sound when I first hit the gas or when the clutch engages in the lower gears. It got way louder after adding the exhaust. With the hood up, you can really hear it and it almost sounds like a turbo.

^^ its the airflow in your intake system, if im understanding correctly what you guys are all talking about, its very easily noticeable on b-series motors (just my experience) when adding an intake, or intake+throttle body, or intake+throttle body+intake manifold, its the sound the airflow makes when opening the butterfly of the intake manifold, and the only area you might hear the sound the best is the filter side of the system cuz its open to the atmosphere, otherwise youll hear some sound through the system at the throttle body...
my
could be completely wrong tho for TL, dont hold me to it! haha

Model: 2008 TL-S 6MT
Intake: Fujita
P2R Spacer: Not yet
Exhaust: XLR8 w/ J-pipe, RV6 PCD's and test pipe.
Whistle: Yes, pretty loud
My whistle got louder when I did the PCD's. I can hear it in every gear, and especially when I change gears. I kinda like it. Also, when I turn off my car, it makes a whistle as the car turns off. I always get a "What the hell was that?" by people that haven't rode in my car before.
