it's pretty annoying when driving slowly thru the neighborhood. Almost makes it sound like something is wrong with my car...
But I love the sound it makes when you get on the gas on the highway!

I hear the exhaust until 3000, then it's whistles from 3000-4000 rpm, then I hear the motor/exhaust until 4800, then it's Vtec time.

Whistle: no; i do get a psst pssst sound when i accelerate; some guy followed me just to ask me if i had a turbo LOL
I can't really hear anything other than the exhaust and the music
and double check if it's a whistle from the TB spacer or CAI. i did have a whistle from the spacer but some teflon tape and red (something) adhesive sealed taht baby up just fine.

Yeah. I get something like *that*. It is not annoyingly loud and varies with how much accelerator your giving it. Mostly it is barely noticable.
At WOT it's almost a slapping sound then a kind of rumble (this is all at lower RPM), then at VTEC it growls.
*Definetly* NOT a whistle -

but yea i love that sound esp late at night on my way home and it's just really quiet on the road.
i know it's definitely the CAI because you hear it directly from the left side front
and yeap as bearcat said; varies on how much you accelerate but it never gets annoying. Sorry some of you guys have a whistling sound....can someone post a clip? i'm kinda curious just how bad it sounds;

Yea, this would be great.
whistle?
shit... mine sounds like a turbo spooling up... its like a sucking sound or inverse whistle
both of my 3G TL's had AEM , and they both whistled.... nothing EXTREMELY loud.. but noticeable
i love it when you turn off the ignition.... and the engine and intake seems to "fart" ..

Year/Model: 04 TL 5AT
Intake: AEM CAI
P2R Spacer: No
Whistle: None (that I can hear anyways)
Does anyone know where this is originating from? I saw someone up in the thread to check the hoses (I'm guessing the 2 that were replaced). Could it be the rubber coupler between the throttle body & intake pipe?
A friend of mine just installed a Fujita intake on his 08 Mazda 3 and he has a very noticeable whistle. So its not just on our cars. Dunno if that helps.

Year/Model: 04 TL 6MT
Intake: Injen
P2R Spacer: No
Whistle: Everytime I shift
There is not a continuous whistle like you guys are stating between 2-3k rpms, it's more of a high-pitched whistle sound everytime i shift. sounds nearly identical to a quiet blow-off valve.
i CAN hear a suction sound everytime i accelerate. i wouldn't classify that as a whistle sound though.

Whistle: i hear a faint whistle starting around 2500....
When I first installed it yesterday, i let it sit so the ecu can adapt to it. Shut off the engine, heard the fart, and just laughed inside lol. "So this is what the fart sounds like", I thought.
Actually, what sol_da_man is describing is pretty much what I have.
