Intake Resonator Removal, should I do it?

Hey guys, one of my friends told me to delete/remove my stock intake resonator. Apparently what it does is it enhances the sound of the engine, mainly when gunning it and the crossover to VTEC. So in short, VTEC is louder. I was researching my ass off and how to do this, and as I was about to proceed into doing it, I started reading a lot about a humming/droning sound after doing the mod. That seems to be the only downside but I heard it is very annoying and sounds like a vacuum.

Is this a certain side effect that will happen if I remove the resonator? I'm not doing it for the performance since the gains are very minimal. I've heard modded/aftermarket intakes on other Acuras and it sounds very nice. I love the whooshing sound.

I'm not sure if this humming sound is the same whooshing sound I want or if is something completely different.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Well since I got no answers, I just decided to do it. This is where I'm at:

How the hell do I get the resonator off? Do I REALLY have to saw it off?

I personally would stick with an intake system that is designed to provide gains. The AEM V2 cold air will add 10-15hp and fit great. the gains may sound minimal, but every horsepower counts!

no humming or drone on mine, been 6 months, also I've improved the angle of the opening to be more forward facing but I don't have a pic.
