Intake manifold spacer question?

Probably been answered somewhere if so please link, my questions are: has anybody done the p2r intake manifold spacer? And if so is it true that the thermal gaskets tend to melt? Is there any difference in sound? I already have stage 2. On my tl .

IM spacer will yield some good results.
spacer doesn't change sound.
p2r thermal gaskets have a good chance of melting.

make sure to replace all gaskets with oem gaskets when you take things apart to install the manifold.

Hm, after many years of selling these gaskets, we have not seen these gaskets melt. Is there any definitive info on this melting occurrence?

The nice thing about the P2R gaskets is that if you use 2 of them, it brings the total spacer thickness from 3/4" to 1". OEM gaskets will work too though. We offer both the spacer and the gaskets at great pricing.

Hm, good to know. I'll reach out to P2R, see if they know and if they've found a solution.

I literally just installed the IM spacer and thermal gasket on my car yesterday. I hope for my own sake that it doesn't melt.

I made this one myself and does a MUCH better job than any retail/mass produced thermal spacer I've seen yet. I got on eBay and purchased some scrap Teflon material, traced the pattern onto it using an oem gasket as a reference, used a band saw to cut a rectangular shape that fit within the rails, then used a drill press to bore out the holes. Works like a champ. Eat your heart out P2R. Lol

Anyone actually dyno the results? Seems to me a spacer would shift the power band down a little, give you stronger midrange at the expense of a little top end. It's a very popular mod with the VQ35 Maxima crowd, usually a 10-12 hp gain in the middle, 5-6 hp loss on top end. So they also remove the butterfly thing in the manifold which brings the top end back plus a little more.

I have done a same day dyno test of before and after 1'' MDX spacer. Search my dyno threads you will find it. It's the best $/gain mod that can be made on the TL by far.
