Inside of a Type-S muffler
Are you going to dyno it? Personally I'm dubious about any potential gains. Just because the stock mufflers may look restrictive, doesn't necessarily mean they are.
Thanks for posting this though, it's interesting to compare this thread with the other one on here showing the base muffler cut open (https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/inside-oem-muffler-pics-596607/).
It looks like they're basically the same inside, except the TL-S muffler has two outlet pipes instead of one.

I would imagine it sounds identical to straight pipe? I deleted my rear mufflers, it's just louder, doesn't affect tone at all. I wonder how that would sound if there was no pipe, just hollow, it would probably act like a resonator then but flow the same.
Has anybody cut open a mid muffler? Just curious if there's anything restrictive in there as I still have mine.

Somebody should consider doing internal modifications to the 2g RL 05-08 and 09-13 year models. They have pressure activated valves that open and close depending on exhaust flow for increased back pressure at lower engine speeds and reduced back pressure at higher engine speeds. I'm sure by removing some of the deadening material, noise levels could also be gained when the engine speed increases if removed from the proper area.
