The vortex is junk. Don't waste your money.

Get a cold air intake instead.

Carlito, welcome to the forum.

I was about to close this thread and call the OP some names, I thought this was a joke..

For everything thats sacred and holy do not get this. Go with a cold air intake like AEM. Do a quick search, you'll see. Plenty of info on this...

i hate it when peeps sell these kinda things...its like a scam. Remember back then when they came out with that sticker that you stick at the back of a cellphone and it supposed to increase signal. And also recently with that silver bracelet that supposed to improved your golf swing...sigh*...as others said dont get it..waste of money.

I don't think a CAI will improve gas mileage. More air = More fuel = More power but not economy. my

at the most it improves efficiency in terms of amount of bang for drop of gas. At the least it sheds quite a few lbs in replacing the stock.

That's what I thought, too. I thought the CAI draws in denser air (cooler = more dense) and the computer compensates to keep the ideal fuel/air ratio. More dense air contains more oxygen, so my fuel is needed to keep the proper ratio. This uses more fuel, but gives you more power. I don't think it's an efficiency thing.

The best mods may be those that reduce weight and load on the engine. Drive with the A/C off as much as you can stand. Remove the mid muffler. Ditch the spare and jack, if you're willing to deal with roadside hassles. Get a lighter battery. Don't haul a bunch of junk in the car all the time. Keep your tires inflated properly.

I forgot where I read it, maybe motor trend? But someone did a study about A/C and open windows and there was a negligible when driving with open windows and in a Toyota Camry (i could be wrong) I think that the A/C made a 1mpg difference.

I could be wrong...

Yeah, I meant to say A/C off and all windows (and sunroof) closed. Once the windows are down, the aerodynamics might not be good enough to save any gas. Of course, it helps if the outside temperature is less than 70 degrees or so.
