Ive been reading these forums for a while now..
And I heard about a billion different things
But the thing I still cant get Performance wise is....Intakes....
I plan on getting a 07 TL-S. Well, my dad is....
But hes making me invest all my money into it, if i want to at all..
Im planning on sticking with the stock Exhaust, cause it is going to sound
incredible i heard...
But whats the cold air intake thats mostly used for the tl
Like i mean a "fan favourite"
Like seen the words comtech, oem, aem or whatever tossed around, im just wanting some straight out anwsers for a guy who is not so smart with performance modifications

You got A LOT to learn.
Basically an Engine needs air and fuel to make power. The air comes from the air intake. A CAI, cold air intake, is just simply an air intake that takes in cold air instead of sucking in hot air from the engine bay.
Comptech and AEM are brand names. OEM stand for Original Equipment Manufacturer which in our case is Acura or Honda.

CompTech is a company that makes performance products for the TL, such as the supercharger and exaust. Acura dealers sell comptech parts andalso if instaleed by them, still keeps a warrenty on the car. (at least that is what all the dealerships in FL say) Also i don't think there will be that many performance products that can fit the 3.5 liter engine in the type S for a while becuase they will have to be designed first.

And will they make this stuff for the bigger engine in the TL-S?
Thanks for all the info guys.

Im actually in Surrey BC. but its still Greater Vancouver
Comptech actually does not make any intake for the 3rd GEN TL. They only have a catback exhaust, sway bars, short shifter, and supercharger for the 3rd GEN TL.
For CAI for the 3rd gen TL, the more common names are AEM, K&N, Injen, etc.
No one knows what company will come out with parts for the TL-S as it's not even out yet.
