Anyone have an inner car sound clip AND outter sound clip of the AEM CAI on the 06 TL? Anyone want to share their joy with me? I am too skeptical... will this pass the smog tests? Will it void the warranty? Can a dumb noob like me install myself if I take my time?

AcuraDriver, i know that the supercharger gives the TL a WHINE, but does the aem cai being installed on top give it a growl over whine? Or still whine??

 

^ The AEM CAI give it a loud growl. However, the whine from the supercharger is much louder and overpowers the growl. For example, the Comptech exhaust is pretty loud (2004 catback is actually louder than later catback; Ryan97812's more silent than mine and againstallodd1 for some reason). but when boost kicks in, you no longer hear the exhaust, you actually hear nothing but the whine.

In essence, the AEM CAI gives it a different kinda whine. A screaming whine rather than high pitch whine. So if you get S/C and AEM CAI mod, when going on boost, you hear absolutely nothing but the whine. Which is great

dude acuradriver you are my heroe...will you ever sell your supercharger kit since your selling car anyways??? And so im guessing the BEST mod is just to do aem cai WITH supercharger (since it overpowers the sound of the exhuast anyways?) I am going to install supercharger with aem cai asap. I will post pix when done. Will this void my warranty though and do people usually add this much stuff right away to a NEW TL? (1k miles on mine.)

do you like just aem sound (growl only),sc (whine only), or sc with aem (loud whine)

which is the best sound since you have expereienced all 3 I am assuming. And what does it mean when someone says they hit vtech or boost (for sc).

The clip with AEM CAI mod on the S/C isn't me, it's another WDP driver. I haven't had a chance to make a clip yet. I am not selling my S/C, againstallodd1 however is selling for only $3000 as he got a new mustang GT. Normally they cost $4495, so you should pm him about the S/C kit.

As for the sound, the AEM CAI mod on N/A cars is great. It sounded amazing but nothing beats the S/C whine.

S/C without AEM mod is also great, just not as loud.

and how come more people who have aem cai hype about it so much but people who have superchargers are so w/e about it lol i see some ppl with sc in their cars and barely talk about it. Normal routine for them? haha

 

N/A means Natural Aspired or aka STOCK.

It's worth the money, the whine is great, I never get tired of that sound.
