I need your suggestions

Hey fellow Azine members,

I need your help. I've had my TL for about a month and the modding bug has hit hard. I've already picked up an AEM intake and a Greddy EVO 2 exhaust. I'm also on the verge of picking up an RV6 V3 J-Pipe. My question is should I get the V3 PCD's as well? I'm really wary about the smell that will be caused by running a catless setup. Not so worried about the Emissions for now, just the smell. I'd love to make up my mind on this soon as I can save $100 buy grabbing the J-Pipe and PCD as a package? What do you guys think?

If the PCD's are a go, then I'll grab them and run "stealthy" for a while. Otherwise, I'm going to grab the J-Pipe and get the A-Spec kit. There's a local shop that makes knock-offs that look 100% OEM and fit like OEM. I saw a car that had the kit, and I couldn't spot the difference!

Let me know guys!

only you have the power to decide if you want the pcd's or not.

not me, not some one else.
if you want them, and know what entails going in, then make the purchase.

these fucking threads are fucking stupid.

You're right. I guess it really comes down to how much the car smells after having them installed. To the people who have done this, what are your thoughts on the elevated levels of exhaust gas smell?

I have PCD's installed.

I like the smell.
its like a machine.
akin to a motor bike or a weedwhacker/eater.

windows up. A/C on, there is no smell in cabin.
windows down, at a stop light, I can smell an exhaust smell that doesnt seem like its coming from my car. but I know that is.

Also, if you have searched around, there is about 600 ongoing threads about this.

Thanks man. Just what I was looking for. I did search around, I guess not hard enough. I actually love the smell of my motorbike, so I guess PCDs it is!

Or find some Type S cats. I debated this as well and I am gonna leave S cats on and do J pipe and hopefully truduals.

The difference between my stock cats and HFPC's is not enough to justify for the power to be gained. PDC's are not an option for me. I have had to many straight drag cars. The 3 whp gained by eliminating cats is not appealing to me and I live in a non emission state. I could run straight pipes through the hood here and they don't care.

i just installed my PCD's two days ago and am happy the smell really isn't bad at all cant really even tell its comming from my car like justinspace said (and kinda like it)... your probably gonna be more worried about rasp mor than anything but you can add a second resonator to solve that problem... or just go with the HFC's... but atleast get the front A-Spec lip!...good luck on your endeavour of TL modding!...

I was just asking for advice, if you find these threads stupid, then why add to it? Many members here are all up for helping fellow members out. If you don't feel the same way, then why bother adding to the thread if all you have to add is a pointless message?
