How to remove UR crank pulley?
So I'm in a bind. I've got everything I need to change my timing belt, but cannot get this crank pulley off. I have the UR pulley, so the Honda tool won't work to hold the crank. Any idea how to get it off? I can't seem to get anything to hold the flywheel through the inspection port, and 6mt in gear and brakes applied won't hold the crank either. anybody else removed a UR crank pulley?

Use an impact, its the only thing that will get it off! I have the strongest impact on the market and it still took some heat to the bolt to get it off! A breaker bar will not get it off.

I've done this in the past. Using the flywheel inspection spot should work but what I've done is use as big of a screwdriver you can fit in the flywheel then clamp a good sized vise grip to the handle of the screwdriver. Gives you a lot more leverage to bust the crank bolt loose.
Hope it works....

It's all in how brave you want to be. hehe
When I did my TB (CLS-6) with the stock diameter UR pulley, I used the 'starter method' as my first alternative. If that did not work, I had a local shop down the road with a huge impact gun as a second alternative. The plan was to crack it loose and then tighten it enough to safely drive it home.
I was pleasently surprised (with the starter method) as to how easy the pulley bolt loosened with ONE good blip of the starter. Probably because the shop that installed the S/C'er did not tighten it down to the full spec of 181ft-lbs; however, I did notice that the bolt threads were covered in some kind of lube and not dry, so that may of helped the process. YMMV

i couldn't get anything wedged into the flywheel, nothing wanted to stay in there.
Impact gun wouldn't get it off.
I finally ended up putting a torch on the bolt, wedging a breaker bar on the ground, and then breaking it loose with the starter. Thanks for all the tips. I completed my timing belt change a couple of days ago, and also ended up buying Excelerate's engine mounts and tranny damper, so I'll be doing those soon.
