Hondata Reflash/Flashpro for 3g TL/TYPE S WHO WANTS IT?
I really wish hondata would support flashpro or at least the reflash for the 3g TL. I felt like flashpro on just a base map was the best mod I did for the 8th gen civic si. They are now making flashpro for the r18 civic motor which leads me to making this thread. Yes they will have a bigger market in the civic world but moving to the r18 motor I feel like we will have just as many people who would want it for the 3g tl. Any light on this subject. I was thinking about getting a list together to submit it to hondata to show our interest in it if there is any.

Back when the TL came out, Hondata make a few different test tunes for local people or willing people. The first few were horrible, the cars made more power on the dyno, but were sluggish on the street. After redoing the tune a little bit, they got a little more power and made it drive just the way it did before. The only problem was that people weren't going to pay more for a couple of extra HP.
NOW the New reflash they have for the S/C through church automotive is supposed to be good. A few members have it and they say the car is great, just burns through fuel like anything.

This is totally incorrect. Well, sort of... Yes, it is cheaper, but running an F/IC is nowhere near as good as a something like the Flash Pro. For one, the F/IC cannot effectively manage our engines in closed loop mode. The F/IC is only capable of tuning for open loop (wide open throttle) which means that you can still end up running too lean the rest of the time. And because you will be dumping more fuel in across the map, your ECU will see that and adjust your short and long term fuel trims in an attempt to compensate. I'll regularly see my long term trims as low as -9%. That's 9% of fuel that it's removing from the engine even when the car isn't making boost.
This exact issue is what will cause a boosted car to drive like crap in town. It will cause it to stutter like there's no tomorrow.
NVA-AV6 is working on getting us an O2 skew module so that we can better remedy this, but it's going to take time for that to happen but that only adds more complexity to the setup. Once that's finished though, that'll bring the total up to 4 additional computers in my car controlling things such as fuel, timing, knock control, meth injection and closed loop operation. I'd MUCH rather have 1 unit to do nearly everything.

We'll find out in about a month here. Need to get it in and over to the tuners. From a stock J32, water/meth, F/IC, PCD's, test pipe and HBP, I hit just shy of 350 whp on a Mustang dyno. My boost level was only at 5.5 psi. I'm pretty sure that my belt was slipping because the inner grooves on the pulley are polished.

^^ cool, and nice number by the way. so i assume u just got ur j36 build recently huh . doesn't it feel much better i love my j36
im just gonna take a stab and say ur gonna be at 380-390 hp, hopefully 400, cause opel has a forged j35 stroker motor and ct supercharger kit pushing 370. i wanna start seeing some 400 whp j-series guys comon !!!

^^ oh yeah it feels good. im still breaking it in though. the way pauls instructed me is to drive 500 miles without going wot or above 3 grand between shifts. then do an oil change. then drive another 1500 miles till its fully broken in, then im going down to him again for rdx injectors + aggressive tune with fic-8. right now i need about 1200 more miles before i can get tuned or go wot.
Im gonna stay na, but not for long. im gonna be going twin turbo this fall, built by paul himself using gt28's running low boost till late winter when i get darton sleeves. i will open a thread when the parts come in and project starts, but until then im saving.

ohh u are gonna love the sound of ur j36!!! with the 3.6 liter hybrid the j-series finally gets some balls. whatever exhaust u have now it will make it sound deeper, not louder necessarily until u go WOT .
damn........ i can't wait to go wot. i have off tommorow i think i just may drive down to texas and back to get the 1200 miles i need yet lol
btw, who is building ur j36 man? if not by paul what is being done? like pnp, cams?

sorry again for being off topic.
so staying on topic, i wonder how hondata blew up j series motors while trying to tune?? maybe they tried to remove the rev limiter to see how high it could rev, then boom. ???
