HKS hi power muffler

I was lookign at the HKS hi power mufflers, and i was wondering if getting a full exhaust system is better then getting mufflers, performance wise? main reason is, I like the look of the greddy, but I don't want it to be to loud, and i don't want to hack upa brand new exhaust system to put a resonator. If I just get the mufflers, can I expect the same gains?

Nope. If you just get mufflers you are opening up about 2 feet of your exhaust. If you get an entire catback that's probably around 8 feet of piping that you are increasing the diameter of. Thats why catbacks give any increase in the first place. They open up the exhaust and allow it to breath better so if you just swap out your mufflers you aren't REALLY opening up the exhaust at all because all of the piping before it is still super restrictive.
