J-Pipe install today

Fed Ex dropped off my J-Pipe this morning, and I am about to go get it installed. First mod on the TL since I got it about a month ago. I did a lot of research and thought it would be nice to get some sweet gains for cheap. I am waiting on getting my AEM v2 from Excelerate wondering what is the hold up, not even a tracking number email yet? Wish me luck and pray for no rasp

I installed mine last saturday 5/22/10, And I have no rasp.
it took me all day, trying to get the old j-pipe OFF. I used plenty of PB blaster. and bought a breaker bar.

Installed new J-pipe and I have no rasp at all. Just a deeper sound at WOT.

That's awesome, exactly what im looking for deep sound @ WOT. I have a shop doing it for $50, I'm hoping it takes no less than 30 min. It is also around 90 degrees outside, I am not messing with it in this heat!

I too received it in 2 days.
ordered 5/20 and received 5/22.

This was my first mod ever, and I wanted to break my cherry. I successfully installed the j-pipe with lots of cuts and bruises to my hands!

^ I remember installing all the exhaust pieces on my TL, definitely a PITA .

You should try installing lowering springs on stock shocks, you'd love using a spring compressor :\.

Do yourself a favor and get coilovers.

Lowering springs on stock shocks is a temporary bandaid fix, you'll be replacing your struts a lot faster than you anticipated leaving you with the spring compressors back in your hands .

I ran TEIN S-Tech and Tokico Blues w/ stock top hats, didn't have any kind of problems and the ride was wonderful.

Just my .02.

your setup wasnt coilovers. its springs and shocks. coilovers have an adjustable sleeve.

I read some members were getting it from the jpipe, I have none at all after the install. I tried ordering the PCD's but they were out of stock. The install took about 2 hours, had to heat up at least 6 bolts with the torch. Loving the sound the jpipe offers, the gains don't really seem noticeable, but I haven't really opened it up yet.
