Hesitation
Is there anyway to get rid of the hesitation when you hit the peddle for acceleration. It just feels like a slight hesitation. Im not looking to buy a supercharger or anything like that. I have an AEM intake. Just curiouse to see if there is anything out there to help with that that is not crazy expensive.
UR lightweight underdrive pulley its 175 bucks plus another 10-20 bucks for a new belt? or you can get the stock sized UR pulley. search the forum for the stock one i think they are still waiting for it to be made or something.
i don't know what you're talking about...i have no hesitation when i hit the accelerator.
But if you're looking, the direction that Eternal is pointing you in is pretty good. Someone on the forum is actually selling a UR pulley and belt (check in the black market). You could also look to buy thermoblock spacers, which some have said helped a little. And if you have the $$$$ (about $1200), get the E-shift pro cats.

Depending on your rpm's and the gear your in (on a 5 speed) it is more noticeable at some times than others .
A good description is, turbo lag without the turbo.

Depending if you are AT or MT. If you are AT and you are crusing, then suddenly you floor the gas to accelerate, there would be a slight delay until the automatic transmission downshift before it starts to accelerate. You could go around this by shifting manually in the semi-automatic mode.
Also like other said, the drive by wire also cause a slight delay, even though persoanlly I do not notice this much.

actually... drive-by-wire can most likely give u a better response... since cars now-a-days are all fuel injector.. half of the time itz ECU controlled... which means,, back then,,, the throttle cable opens up the intake, then the ecu received signal for more fuel...
vs now.. they ecu will optimize..
if you are experiencing delay... u can i guess try voltage stablizer

Hi,
I got this from another forum and it works for a lot of people including me.
The Throttle is "Drive By Wire" and adapts to your particular driving
style. Do a TBA Throttle body adaptation.
1. Get in your car, it doesn't matter if you close the door or not.
2. Turn the key to the on (not start) position, the position just before the starter
turns over.
3. Press the gas pedal to the floor with the key in the "on" position.
4. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back
to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas
pedal.
5. Wait 2 mins. for a full alignment.
6. Drive the car as you always do.
Depending on your driving style, this may or may not be a big factor. I do a lot of city driving so
I noticed a big change after erasing my history. It is not hard to do this, just follow the instructions -
Key on, pedal down, 5 sec, key off pedal up, wait 2
minutes.
Keep the key in for the entire thing.
Seems to work on mine.

It most certainly is not the drive by wire system. MANY cars today are DBW. DBW is more accurate, faster responding, and more reliable.
Folks will blame DBW because they think of thier old PC clunking along and the seconds of hesitation when opening multiple programs.
If you're having hesiatation issues, it is most likely an ECU related problem.

i dont notice any hesitation, but I was bent on getting the hyper voltage system from sun installed on the car. my evo had that and it improved throttle response (basically the problem of the OP), and frankly after i got one for the TL, it was a very discernable difference. well worth it in my opinion.
