Here is my final list of engine mods...curious what the AEM FIC will gain me.

AEM Cold Air Intake
ATLP V2 J-Pipe
JE Test Pipe
XLR8 Base Duals Cat-Back
RV6 Hi-Flow PreCat x2
2012 TL SH-AWD Intake Manifold
2013 ZDX Throttle Body
P2R Throttle Body Spacer (not installed yet)
P2R Intake Manifold Spacer (not installed yet)
P2R IM Thermal Gaskets x2 (not installed yet)
P2R TB Thermal Gaskets x2 (not installed yet)
AEM Fuel/Ignition Controller (not installed yet)

I'm waiting for the last 5 things to come, but after all that is installed, what will my gains be on a good tune with the FIC? I make 230whp right now.

The few (less than 5 whp) gained from the FIC is going to be negated by the manifold spacer, which adds low end torque at the expense of horsepower. TB spacer is useless unless you need a nitrous port. Did you look for a used J&R? FIC isn't going to do much.

I got the FIC for 400 including the adapter harness which is a steal. I couldn't pass it up.

Better atomization, better mpg, more room to grow if you do you do camshafts. There a reason why Acura out 310cc in the Mt tl and 270cc in the AT Tl.

please don't go into audio and create threads for each audio component haha. lots of people do progress threads so you can see where the car started and where it ended up. it's pretty cool to see the "history" of a car all in one place.

either way, curious to see how your car turns out with the latest mods. thanks for at least doing the dynos!

I ended up beating my co worker who kept talking shit about my car. Like BAD shit talking to the fucking max. He has an 04 G35 auto sedan. I walked all OVER him 3 times in a row. Video to come shortly.

The engines from the G35's and Maxima's have some impressive low range torque but above 3k, these motors fall FLAT. The j-series is almost the exact opposite. They have clumsy torque figures but they can produce some great power up top...especially with proper breather mods. Sadly, the G37 is the same way as the G35. It's a shame cause the motors have great potential. There's an article online that shows someone with a VQ35 that makes around 315whp NA. Aside from some modest cams, all it's got is breather mods.

This had to be done because he was making me look like a fool at work saying my car is a piece of shit and he will always better at me with everything etc etc. just had to spank that ass not one, but THREE times in a row to shut his ass up. He had me for about 2 seconds but then as the one guy said earlier, his power went flat after around 3k. Meanwhile my car just kept pulling and pulling. I hardly ever race or dog my car at all but this had to be done. Because he's a sore loser and a little twat who thinks he's gods gift. He wouldn't even answer his phone after the race. Lame ass...LMFAO. I'm done for a while. It's still winter. I don't want my car shacked up in a garage somewhere from abuse.

x2. Grow up. Talk about being insecure. Besides all those mods and 230whp? You have to be kidding. What a waste of money.

To be expected. Not trying to talk my car up. It's far from finished anyway. Haters are what keep me motivated. That's why I whipped his ass last night. Sipping too much of the Haterade. What an idiot.

And it was 230whp on a low-number throwing Dynapack. Don't get it twisted buddy. I'm probably making more. And I'm not even tuned yet.

And that was before my intake mani spacer/tb spacer and TB Coolant bypass. And I'm auto which seems to be lost in the translation.

Lol, wut?

The VQ37HR makes peak power at 7000 rpm and the VQ35HR makes peak power at 6800. Even though the DE's don't rev quite as high, they still aren't exactly gasping for breath above 4-5k, like say an L98 GM engine.

Pretty much all the J series in Honda/Acura cars peak at a much lower 6200 rpm (Earth Dreams J35 in the 9G 6MT Accord might be a bit higher, maybe 6500) and flatten out notably from there to redline.

Here's a G37 dyno. If this powerband is flattening out after 3k, I must need glasses. I see the stock graph showing another 25 whp gained above 6k.

And here's a TL Type S dyno merged with a 2004 base 6MT dyno from TOV. They peak at 6000/6200 and start to immediately fall back off.
