Help...Replacing Type S Mufflers
I have a 07 Type S and would just like to replace the mufflers. Too much cash right now to do a full CBE. I would just like Borla or Magnaflow's.....anybody know the size or part #'s?
I searched and found Magnaflows for a TL, but for the Type S has a dual tip which is different.

It would actually not be all that difficult... if you had a shop who was competent cutting and welding... then it can be done
but sorry srt-11 I dont think borla 40652 will do it
you'd have to use something along the lines of magnaflow 14266 or 14580

Why don't you just do Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 exhaust as posted here on the forum? Do a search. You'll gain a nice sound and no need to replace mufflers. I have Stage 2 and it sounds like a G35 coupe.

if you're looking for a inexpensive exhaust, go stage 1-4 .. as said above. very inexpensive, but results are amazing. i went straight pipe from the cat back and got some 40 series flowmasters, and my car sound so meaty.
just search here and youtube, see which fits your needs best.. oh and don't get used to cheap mods, anything for our cars will be a pretty penny

the stage 1-4 do nothing performance wize... swapping the mufflers for magnaflow single in dual out will definitely improve exhaust flow for the car...
to the original poster... my advice to you is get yourself a full custom catback while you are at it... since you'll easily get the mufflers for cheap... (pm me I will search for the cheapest price).... you'll use the stock tips by cutting and custom welding creatively...
the hurdle is the stock y pipe and the restrictive resonator and midmuffler... replace those 2 with something along the lines of a hushpower resonator or an aero resonator and you should be very good.... also find a shop capable of mandrel bending or one who uses prebent mandrel pieces.... you'd want to go 2.5" to the y and 2.25" from there back

The cheapest and most effective way of changing the exhaust note on the car, would be removing the resonator and replacing it with another, or doing likewise with the midmuffler. It would probably be $70 in labor and $50 in parts.
