Help! custom catback questions

Ok guys so I just installed my rv6 v3 jpipe today and I love it! I was also hoping id get the electric piece for my cutout put in, but there's no room so I have to move the cutout further back on my exhaust. Currently I have a cai, tbs, jpipe and the stage 4 exhaust with the resonator and mid muffler removed. The cutout I have is welded at the beginning right after where the 3rd cat is. Now i want to move it back to where the mid muffler was because there is more room to fit the electric piece. My catback is really hacked up from all the pieces being removed and straight pipes put in. So I was hoping to make a custom piece of straight pipe all the way to where the electric cutout would sit. I wanted to put the cutout on the angle at where the mid muffler was so that way when I open it, its just a strait shot for the exhaust gases to escape. After the cutout at the axle back I'd leave the stock piping for the mufflers. My question is what size piping should I run? 2.5 to the cutout or 3.0?? I've been reading up about this a lot and half of you say 2.5 piping is the most and half say that 3 inch is fine. I know that having the cutout open will make me lose some backpressure but my mechanic said it I would get enough pressure because the cutout is far enough back. So any input would help me out because I'm trying to do this asap! Thanks!

With stock piping still in place after the cutout 3" piping would be foolish. 2.5" is more than enough.

ya i have the same thing right now. right after my jpipe i have the cutout welded in. but theres no room to put the electric piece that bolts on to the flange in because im lowered. so basically right now its just an open cutout (the one where you have to put in the metal flange piece manually and close it with the butterfly nuts). i want to relocate it in the back where theres more clearance so that when i go over a speedbump, the cutout will be left on the ground hahah

i want it for the sound. just to have fun. chill bro not trying to make a race car here. plus itll be mounted like 3 feet back from where it originally is right now. if anything itll make it flow better because ill still keep back pressure, rather than have it dump right from the header. also i want it for convenience, the electric part doesnt fit in the spot where it is now (right after the jpipe). it does however fit 3 feet back. id much rather have the electric part in, since i paid for it and to open and close it as i wish, rather than jack my car up and close it by hand.
