Handling upgrades

I just got the TL, but coming from an s4 and a wrx I already don't like the way it handles... Does soemthing like an Eibach Pro kit make a huge difference in our cars? Or would I have to do a full coilover setup to make a big difference. I had the Pro kit on my '99 GSR and I loved the way it handled. Maybe I don't have the stickiest tires, but there is a lot of push in the suspension I can feel.

Also, as far as straightline performance... Any great bang for the buck modifications out there? I'll keep searching, but feel free to chip in here as I do!

Progress 24mm Rear Sway Bar = #1 bang for the buck handling improvement

Then either:

Springs (I recommend H&R Sport, but there are quite a lot of choices) and shock (Koni/Nuespeed-Koni)

OR

Coil-Overs

Depending on what tires you've got they can make a BIG difference. If you've got the EL42's or MXM4's nothing will be really good until you get rid of them.

I also doubt if you're ever going to get to WRX level of handling.

The tires on there are Wynstar Exocet R-27's... Whatever the hell those are. They look nice and aggressive, but I've for sure never heard of them.. And of course they are brand spankin new.

Wow, I just researched those tires a bit... They are rated way lower than even Falken Ziex 512... Ugh, and I'm stuck with them. Oh well, I'll burn em off quick. Progress RSB will be my first mod for sure! Thanks for the help! Second mod maybe J pipe or spring kit...

LOL soundsl ike some ghetto chinese company's tires...lol i dont know much about the tires,

but you're comparing all wheel drive to front wheel drive...so you might have a rough time adjusting.

Progress RSB should probably be first on your list. if you really want a ride where you can really feel the road, i'd recommend the A-spec suspension.

and then the basic power mods you'll want are AEM CAI, UR pulley. ~ after that a j-pipe (down pipe).

hope that helps ~ but if it doesnt, i'm sure bearcat will be your personal adviser for the next week or so

You're used to go carts, not big boats.

+1 on RSB

You want good handling, just springs is a no no.
Lower does not mean better handling.

You need a system that is tuned to complement the spring rate with dampening valving of the strut.

Tein SS being adjustable, or Koni with nice stiff spring... bout the vest there is.

H&R, Megan, and K-Sport make coils that fit too... but the feedback is limited, only a few have posted thier opinions (and of course they're all good).

My summary after living here fro 2+ years.

Koni + Eibach/H&R springs for real track driving.

Tein SS + EDFC for tighter daily driving experience.
