Should have gotten a MT and gutted that, the LSD alone would be worth it for drag racing and AutoX.

I'd be rollin' in an RL right now if it had a manual trans.

If you had a manual trans, then you wouldn't have to worry about that.

Guys, cut this guy some slack. No need to be so judgmental. I wouldn't do this to my car, but to each his own. When Innacurate and Vill0169 did this, everyone was praising them for their desire to be different and for being ballsy. And Innacurate's car was a 5AT just like OP's. Why the hate here?

If you remove the dash, i'm sure someone would buy it from you, just don't break it! Some cracked dash member would love it!

There's no hate. Why hate it's his car. There's some sarcasm in these posts you're not picking up on.

But....

Innacurate was a pioneer. I think he was about proving a point or achieving something. Villo competitively tracks his car. Not quite the same.

So....with that logic, I guess I'm just gutting my car for nothing? Who said I didn't have a plan in mind?? Inaccurates post was a strong influence and inspiration to follow in his foot steps and create my own version of the "TL Diet". Which, once complete, will be version "3.0" as I haven't seen anyone else attempt to do it as far as I know on here. Hate, sarcasm or whatever, I'm still going to keep doing what I've been doing. I thrive off of those who don't like what I do, so the more negativity the better. May just throw a supercharger into the mix too.

I'm pretty sure The TL Project is trying to achieve the exact same thing Innacurate was; making his car faster by extreme weight reduction.

Um actually people were bashing and making fun of them at first. It took time for that to stop.

In case no one saw it yet, I did a 69-105mph pull recently and it definitely seems quicker than before I did all the gutting and added the underdrive pulley.

Braille batteries are very expensive. I just picked up one of these for my TSX: LFX36L3-BS12 - Shorai Lithium Batteries
$250 shipped from amazon.

It's 5 lbs and the stock battery is 28 lbs. The stock TL battery is bigger, so it may be more like 35 lbs.

Lithium batteries aren't forgiving, so get the special charger and mount it so that it doesn't get heat from the engine bay.

I am not hating on the idea, more commenting on the lack of process/purpose. Then again it gets the OP attention, we all like attention.

OP, you care, or to put it in your words give a f---, what people think, it’s why you post on Acurazine and on Facebook.

Take more weight out, get an alignment, bleed/flush your brakes and use some of the money you are spending on the TL to get a helmet and pay the entry fee for a driving event. The biggest misconception people make is that you have to have a lot of HP or some crazy modded car to go autox/track, sounds like an excuse to me

I'll rephrase the "don't give a fuck" part. I do give a fuck, except for when people talk shit. All that does is make me more likely to do what they say not to do, so ultimately their actions have the reverse effect on me. But I do what I want when it comes to my car. That's the "don't give a fuck". I stripped the interior and threw mostly everything out because of a lack of caring about what I'll do later on down the road. I've spent the better part of my life worrying about shit I can't control or shouldn't have to worry about controlling so now I just have a lax attitude about almost everything. Life's too short. I'm gonna get mine one way or the other.

Lots of HP makes cars harder to drive, and can actually be slower, especially at autocross. At track hp can make up for other deficiencies down straights and makes passing easier.

Most annoying thing to me is how 99% of people assume every fwd car is garbage and anything rwd or awd will be faster no matter what. If I tell people the sports cars I beat at autocross they all call me a liar except ppl at the actual events.

Beat out a C7 for first place in a rwd class (I compete against rwd in my CL) last year. Had driver come up to me month or 2 later and say how me beating him was still bothering him and his lowest autocross moment. His license plate says "Eats911s" but can't eat a fwd honda hehe. He is a good driver btw, much more experience than me.

Beating rwd and awd cars in a fwd car makes the victories so so sweet. I still get fuzzy feeling inside thinking about it.

You selling any of the removed parts? I need the metal strip/carbon fiber piece that's on the drivers side door skin. Also need a replacement stock radio. Heck even the two metal console runners. If in better than good shape.

Your a faster driver then the guy in the C7. Beating a C7 in a FWD car would give all of us a warm fuzzy. Funny how he came up to you and admitted his shame.

Couldn't handle all the road noise with the interior cleaned out like that.

Need to swap out at least your driver's seat, if you are looking for more weight reduction.

Custom rails will probably be required to fit a racing seat in, but.....you gotta pay to play.

Yeah I was wondering about how I will mount the new seats in, how much are those brackets?

3200lbs! Have you thought about taking your moon roof out and A/C? What seats are you looking at?

Yeah moon roof is definitely getting removed as soon as I find a good price on a carbon fiber sunroof plug. Any ideas? AC is staying for the time being until I have more time to dick around with the dashboard area.
