Stainless steel is not immune to rust. Put up a pic; I'm sure it's just a very light surface rust and you've nothing to worry about.

haha wait til stillhere reads this thread LOL.... hes always bashing on comptech for not using SS flanges

but yea, it could just be surface rust..... that should polish right off... im not sure if there is any kind of "protectant" you can put on there

i should go check out my ATLP.. its been on for 3 months.. and its seen a snow blizzard or two, but at least Nassau County is so corrupt and broke, that there is no money for salting and sanding !! so they havent seen any of that stuff yet

Damn...I remember back in the day euro tuners would come out with flat black exhausts and only the mufflers or tips were polished. Maybe they were onto somethin'.

surface rust my good man... surface rust.. comes off with a moist 100% cotton towel... she will be golden at the first sunny day... no worries...

you have to understand while you drive in the rain then park... the tubing will just have water sitting on it.. solution: jack the car up after you park and dry it

ps. you should see the bottom of your factory jpipe.. it is also stainless steel... yet looks like if you hit a dip to deep and it touches the ground it will crack the f* up... and not covered under warranty... because they will chalk it up as either accidental or wear and tare

I've been asking for someone to produce one for awhile now. If only I know how to make a damn exhaust I'd do it. Damn Remus and Sebring for not being able to create a catback for the TL!!!!!

Mine's gets a little rusted but it comes off pretty easy. Has anybody else with the Greddy noticed that it hangs a little low. I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly. I doubt you can screw up the install but it definitely looks like the exhaust could have hugged the car a little closer.

Without seeing pictures, i can only guess that it's like what most others have said here, and it only needs a good wipe down or polish. Please post pictures so the rest of us can take a look. Also, be rest assured, that as the original owner of the catback, you have a 3 year warranty.

Not sure about Vendor, but definitely a member

and yea, in response to slimboogie, ... just about every aftermarket catback for this car, the piping hangs low in the center... OEM pipes arent that bad, but they are thinner. my comptech & ATLP all hung pretty low..

Yes it may hang low BUT I back-in my car every morning at work and the cans clear the parking curb. Now, I realize there are some F-ing big ones, but just letting you know, every parking curb I've dealt with clears with no issues. At least about 0.75" gap from the lowest point of the can to the parking curb. Beware of regular sidewalk curbs though. Those sidewalk curb specs/size seem to vary A LOT, becareful.

Atlp doesn't hang low either, neither does the comptech, it only seems like it because ofthe polished canisters.

^ ballin.. not the cans, but the Y pipe.... it definitely hangs low enough to be seen from behind... it will never 'scrape' on the ground, because the pipe is next to the rear wheels, but its still noticeable that its "drooping"

im know its like this for comptech & atlp. not sure about the others

I would get some silver heat resistant paint to paint over that. Dam..I just hope mine will not turn out like that.

i think it's just because of the heat, just like what happens to headers.

yes, unfortunately, that's what happens in areas of harsh weather. It's not rust though, it's the natural bronze color that results due to heat, mixed with the slight oxidation of the surface. A nice polish would take that right off.
