Front Sway Bar -- Anyone try it yet?

Has anyone tried to upgrade their front swaybar yet?

Looks like H&R offers the front sway bar for the '04+ TL. Any thoughts on what kinda improvement this might make. I currently have the comptech rear swaybar.

Bad idea...

Thicker FSB will = even more oversteer ina FWD car. Just because it's out there doesn't mean you shoudl do it.

What are friends for? I would've linked the thread I was thinking of (good discussion in it), but I was lazy.

The H&R Sway Bars are not even released yet. I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and have not received it yet. I called H&R today and they said they would have them ready for shipment in 2-3 weeks. I order the rear though.

Wouldn't a stiffer Front Sway Bar create more understeer? And even if it did, more understeer for everyday street driving would not really be bad? If you were on the track then that's a whole different situation.

And yes I started an H&R Sway Bar thread a while back if anyone is looking for more information on the Sway Bar.

Oops... That's right. A thicker front swaybar increases understeer not oversteer.

I dunno, I disagree. Just because it's there, doesn't mean it's a good idea. If it's a bad idea for the track, it's probably a bad idea for street use. OK, so it will work, but is the increased understeer (and the implied danger of yuor frontend coming out from under you)... which BTW is increased with all the drop kits folks here are so find of... all for a slightly better turn in?

I figured the optimum setup was ideal for the track, as you want to drive like you're one one.

What the expected gains?

i never saw a purpose for it with my CL. but the TL may be a different story. :shrugs: i think that's why comptech sells just the rear. i honestly don't see a purpose for a front bar. i just upgraded the bushings on the front bar to the energy greaseable ones. they work pretty good.

I pose this question to everyone, but don't want to start a new thread. Is there anything I can do , beyond the Rear Sway bar, to reduce body roll in my 06 TL manual? My friends suggested a trunk brace, but i've never heard of one for the TL. My friend's rsx has a stabilizer bar connecting the two different sides of his rear sway bar. never heard of this for the TL either.

any idea's? thanks!

strut bars or the trunk brace bar do nothing for body roll. They increase chassis stiffness. If you want to further decrease body roll, a stiffer spring/shock combo is your best bet
