Finally Supercharged!!!

Awesome!!! I will post a longer review in this thread tommorow. It's great. I was laughing at the power and sound of the charger when i first hit it. The car really pulls hard especially over 4k.. It's a smooth power surge.. I made my gf drive so I can feel myself being pinned in the passenger seat.. The surging/jerking issue is nothing. I was crapping my pants worrying about this so called issue for weeks. When i thought I felt it for the 1st time, I was like "that's it?" seriously.. i was mad at myself for worrying.. it's nothing.... i'll be back tommorow for a long review, and hopefully videos..

Congrats on the install! I told you the surging/jerking issue wasn't that big of a deal. The power from above 4k is amazing. Did you get your car on the dyno yet?

Thanks people.. I didn't dyno it yet.. i will soon. My friend's brother installed it for me for those who asked. Straight line automotive. union beach NJ 732 739 1177. DON Z.. He does excellent work and is the only person i trust on any car i've owned. Anybody in NJ, I highly highly recommend letting him do your performance work.!!!

Hey bklynpanman I was wondering if you are free someday next week, I can shoot up the parkway to your neighborhood and check this thing out. I want to see the difference in the two cars. One supercharged and one not.

You guys should do a side by side race and see how much harder it pulls. Maybe video it too?

Congratulations bro! I told you the surging problem wasnt that big of a deal! Now go burn some octane. You'll notice on the inside of your exhaust tips will be a lot darker.

Yes that is what I am thinking. I do have a few other mods that increased my horsepower. UR pulley, aem intake, throttle body and intake manifold spacer, nrg voltage reg. The pulley and aem intake will come off with the supercharger so I will be losing some hp to gain. I am thinking between the pulley and intake it is around 12-15 hp. So if I was to get a supercharger I will only be getting around 45 hp gain. I do want to run with him, I will bring my girl to cast the video and for all of you to see the difference. I do have a automatic tranny though.

yes,, please get some vids, i want to see how the s/c tl pulls on the n/a.
I been considering about the c/s for a while now, but since the headers came out i don’t know what i should do.
Header = + 21-27whp
AEM=+10whp
Exhaust=+8whp
UR=2-3whp
total about 41-48whp would cost you about $2,400 and the s/c give you about 65whp but =$4,000
i really want to see all motor tl with the upgrades run a s/c tl.

b15 ... those mods aren't additive as you suggest. Plus... you don't gain that much torque w/ those n/a mods. My bet is that the s/c TL would win so long as it got a good launch.

I dont say this ever but I hope I get beat bad in this race, because I am getting the sc soon. Headers will be on hopefully in a few weeks. SC and headers will be adding almost 80 hp or more.

yeah man.. i'm getting those headers too.. I've been burnin up a lot of gas today. The car seems faster today. It's such a smooth power delivery, it's great. Even under normal driving conditions you can feel the increase... the delivery of power above 3500 is soo addicting.. 60-90 in 5th is really fast.. i didn't even realize i had hit 90 til i glanced down.. woahhh.. The sound is pretty crazy too.. Like a wind up toy on steroids. If you have the money to throw around, it's definitely worth the 4k.. Videos will be posted soon..

Pretty much it is up to bklnpanman, my schedule is free this week, monday in school to 12:30, and wends in school to 4:30. I am just as ancious to see the results of this as everyone else. I am waiting for bklypanman to reply with a good day this week so I could make my way up there to get a race and take the video. I know when I see his car go and hear the sound I am going to get really impatient and will want the charger right then... I wanted to wait to see what RIPP is doing with there chargers, but I know when I see bklnpanman's charger I will probably order one that night. Yea anyway bklnpanman let me know when you are free and we can do this. Im stoked.

Can't really line up anywhere up here.. it's too populated.. unless we did a rolling start on the parkway..

On the parkway will be good, the best place that might be good is at a toll.
We both pay and beep 3 times and go, than we could take it to about 80mph or more. That way less chance to get into trouble. We could wait for no traffic and then line up and pay the toll, pull up so we can see each other and either you or me honk 3 times and go. Just let me know if it sounds ok with you. That is the problem with north jersey, it is too conjested. South Jersey where I am from a lot more straight roads and no hills. Less conjested also. But as far as your area the parkway at a toll booth might be our best bet.

i cant wait for the track to open. I am definately down to go. Then at least I will have on board witness's of my times so I dont have to go out and spend money on a new scanner that I will never use other than this.

Just checked ATCO raceway and first street racing night is first friday of march March 3rd. Ill be at ATCO that friday night hoping for a 14.1, and if I have the headers by then, I hope to get into the high 13's but doubtful with a 5at.

just had my boost gauge hooked up. max is 5psi.. when i hit 5k though in 2nd i lose a pound of boost which i can feel.. no belt slipping.. we have auto tensioners and nothing can be done anyway. i have to check with comptech but according to them and the dyno sheet there is a lull where the old vtec point was.. who knows.. still fast though
