FINALLY! 3rd gen TL motor mounts Group Buy
they are here! solid motor mounts with poly inserts. im trying to get a feeler out there for those interested in them. this is going to be a one time only GB. i cant give a price on them yet, but i did get the OK from astros to run a feeler to see if theres interest first.
the thing i can promise you is the price will be cheaper, than they will be once their released. the price will drop more, depending on how many people are interested too they are in the finishing stages of the side mount, which i'lll be picking that up this week. so, it will be a complete the set with a front, rear and side mount. this is an opportunity to have them months before their released and cheaper too
here is set #1 that was made for me. as you can see, not much to them, which was why they failed.
now heres is set #2, see the difference? steel was beefed up with more supports and components welded into them. been r&ding these for over 2 months now and they are winners. keep in mind this is a raw set that was solely made for r&ding, so they were just spray painted. all new sets will come powdercoated
heres my thoughts, vibration is surprisingly very minimal. i know this is a concern most of you have, but if some of you local guys that are interested, we can hook up at one of the meets so you can feel for yourself. most importantly, wheel hop is basically non-existant, car feels way more solid, throttle response is lightening quick and no more going through stock motor mounts like underwear. more than half of you probably dont realize you have broken or torn motor mounts. this is a much better and cheaper solution than buying the oem ones.
just a side note, these were made and designed using the 6spd mounts. i dont know if the auto mounts are the same or not. they show different part #'s but it might be something internally different. some of you auto guys interested might want to find this out, but i think most interested here will be for the 6spds anyways.
also, yes i know i own an accord, but the TL share the same mounts. the stock mounts you see in the pics, were out of a 3rd gen TL 6spd. they the ones used for mocking
remember this is a interest list only and not a commitment to buy. i know that will depend on price, but no worries you guys are going to get hooked up.
ill start a list, put your name if interested and note if yours is (auto) or (6spd) by your name

there was a 7th gen accord a few years back that did an auto to 6spd swap. the shop that did it told me they didnt have to swap the motor mounts. maybe its just different internally? or maybe the height is slightly different?
now, the 07-08 3.5 TL-S is a whole different story, i have no idea if these will fit auto or 6spd. unless you guys cross referenced the part #'s with the mounts for the TL, you guys are on your own on this one.
ill see if i can look into this further

1. car feels more solid.
2. quicker throttle response.
3. less engine oscillation
4. wheel hop is greatly deminished
5. you will never have to replace them. as you can see, the stock mounts are a mountain of rubber. they are very weak and will fail sooner or later.

Hmm.. part #s are strange
For all the mounts and rubber assemblies, the part numbers are ALMOST the same
i.e.,
50610-SDB-A01 Bracket RR Engine Mount 08 TL-S 5AT
50610-SDB-A10 Bracket RR Engine Mount 06 TL 6 MT
They all start with the same part #, but have different suffixes... not sure if that matters
also, when browsing through AcuraOEMparts.com, they have a different link for Engine Mount 6MT and Engine Mount 5AT.. but the part numbers are soo close.. this might require further r&d

Yeah, basically looks like there are 3 "families" :
All AT '04 - '06
All MT '04 - '06
and
All TL/TL-S '07 - '08
Don't know if the mounting points changed or maybe just material, supplier, etc. ????
Also, Blackura, is it what you posted or these:
7 50810-SEP-A04 RUBBER ASSY., RR. ENGINE MOUNTING (AT)
11 50830-SEP-A03 RUBBER ASSY., FR. ENGINE MOUNTING (AT)
All AT '04 - '06
All MT '04 - '06
and

^^ what you psoted are different mounts (front and rear) but look at the part #'s for , say an 04-06 TL 6MT/5AT and 07+ TL-S they are all the same, up to the A-- part.
There are brackets, and then there are the actual mounts...
OEM mounts generally go for about $250 (discounted price) my buddy needed them for an 02 CL-S, and i get them from AcuraOemParts.com for about $260

blackura, where did you find those part #'s? this is what i came up with.
04-06 TL (6spd)
front # 50830-SEP-A12
rear # 50810-SEP-A12
04-06 TL (auto)
front # 50830-SEP-A02
rear # # 50810-SEP-A01 ('04) # 50810-SEP-A02 ('05) # 50810-SDB-A21 ('06)
07-08 TL-S (6spd)
front # 50830-SEP-A12
rear # 50810 SEP-A12
07-08 TL-s (auto)
front # 50830-SEP-A03
rear # 50810 SEP-A04
all the 6spd mounts for the 04-06 TL and 07-08 TL-S share the same exact part #'s. so there is no doubt these mounts will fit ANY 6spd 3rd gen TL/TL-S.
for the automatics, i have no idea. another thing that is puzzling, why the hell are the 6spd mounts ALOT more expensive than the auto mounts?? are they possibly built stronger for the extra stress of the 6 spd? ill see if i can find some answers this week =/

I asked the same question.
I think Blackura's point was that the Motor Mounts themselves may be different from model to model but if the Motor Mount BRACKETS (i.e. the motor mount connection points) are the same, we can use one After Market design.
Blackura, please correct me if I mis-understood.

How would the installation go? Is this something a DIY could do? Or would it be labor intensive?
How noticable is the throttle response?
If the price is right and of course it fits an auto, I'm in.
Thanks for the work 04accord.

i think if you bring it to a good shop, they should charge you no more than $150-$200 max.
mine took about 1 1/2 hours. front one is cake, the rear one is a PITA. not so much unbolting everything, cause its easy to do especially with some long extensions. the hard part is trying to take the mount out itself. you have to lift the engine, shimmy and turn it just the right way to slide it out of there. if you want to make life easier, your better off taking out the half shaft, then it will pop right out.
after that, its smooth sailing. the new mounts arent bulky like the stock ones, so they slip right in no problem. from what i hear, the TL might have a bit more room to work with underneath.
