Exhaust Help
Hey im brand new to this forum and i was wondering what the best modification to do to the exhaust to make it sound better. I have a 2008 base and want to know what to do and also where i could get the work done?
You can do a full exhaust setup or you can do the exhaust stage mods. Lot of people here have gone the stage 3 route and have really liked the sound, I myself have done it in the past, and it sounded pretty close to infiniti G35/G37 that is if you're into making it sound like that. The stage 3 basically deletes the mid muffler and replaces the stock resonator with dynomax 24215 resonator. This can be done at any muffler shop. if I were you I would start at stage 1, which is deleting just the mid muffler. Stage 2 is similar to stage 3, only it uses different resonator, magnaflow I think. Stage 4 is deleting both the mid muffler and resonator with straight pipes, sounds like crap IMO. There are lot of sound videos of these on youtube.
Yea, what he^ said.
Also, to note, there are 3-4 different resonators you can use for the Stage III mod. The quieter option is the 18" Dynomax 24235 resonator and if you want it a little louder, go with the 12" 24215 or 24234 models. The 4th is another brand of resonator that I forget the name of (not Magnaflow). Some have even suggested it could be a Stage 3.5, but who knows. Either way any of these mods really help with your exhaust tone in a positive way, IMO. Minus all the rasp even. But if you're going a performance route with cat deletes and a less restrictive exhaust system/J-pipe, then you may need to rethink your dual muffler outlet or what you're planning on cutting out- at the risk of drone and rasp.
