Exhaust

I know there are a few threads on exhaust but havent really gotten any solid information. What i was wanting to know if true dual exhaust performs better then single exhaust. Right now ive gotten true dual and i was thinking of going to a single 2.5 cat back. I have jpipe v3 and cut the merge off and added in an x pipe and went true dual 2.25 that way back. I installed 4 small resonators from a stock vehicle 2012 dodge pickup truck to magnaflow mufflers, was too loud and raspy. So im trying ro decide if i should go to single 2.5. Any info is great at this point.

you're asking a subjective question and if you wanted quantifiable results, you yourself can dyno the TD's then go build a single and dyno that.

there are SOO many variables that, 1) no one will have your exact set up. 2) why did you go TD, if now you're questioning it? 3) exhaust is experimentation. you will need to experiment to get what you are after, be it sound or performance.

There will most likely be very little difference in performance gains between a single path or dual exhaust. For the average customer, a standard single path bolt on system will meet their needs for sound and power.

i'll provide first hand evidence of experimentation...
so, i'm fully catless, but lately, I think my car is too loud.

I am trading my rv6 v3 jpipe for a stock one this friday. since I know it has a catalytic converter, I KNOW that it will help silence some of the unwanted noise that I have...except, I FULLY dont know what it will sound like...or if I will even like it...
except, I've already made the trade and will have to fucking go through with it.
it really is experimentation... NO one knows what or how it will perform until its on the car.

Justn I understand fully but that's why I made a thread to see what people who have it done might have some good info on it. I know someone here has done both and I would read and gather info before taking it back and getting anything done. Your car would prolly not be so loud if you added in a Mid muffler, but I'm sure u will like yours more after the stock j pipe is installed.

^but no one has the exact same set up as you!

and see, no one has the exact same set up as I DO.
I am not willing to cut up my RV6 True duals to add a resonator or mid-muffler. so, my only bet is to change the jpipe back to factory, to see if it quiets it down.

you have to experiment, if you want something else. there is no if's, and's or butts about it.

justnspace you should have switched to the atlp v2 jpipe!! all the gains still (maybe even more than the catless one) and you can add the cat back in for helping quiet it down! but i see you already made the trade

xlr8 v2 quad exhaust. i took out the resonator and put a larger one in (magnaflow 10426) since it was too loud with HFPCs.

my signature has all my exhaust mods listed. no rasp and it sounds great overall, i love it
