It comes down to two things. 1. Budget and 2. What are your goals. After that, we have an idea of what to suggest. I can already tell you to not bother and invest into a better platform, but at the end of the day, it's your TL, your budget and your dreams.

have 10k ready. Turbo or supercharger will be around 4000-5000 depending on options and who is building it. 700 for flashpro if you are 07-08 TL. If not then add additional 500 for ecu + conversion harness. Then plan on getting water methanol, wideband, boost gauge, new o2 sensor, 1 step colder spark plugs, upgrade fuel pump, heat warp, turbo blanket, lava shielding for all the wiring and rubber parts near the turbo, fluids that you will be replacing, and an extra 1k for stuff to go wrong. Then have another motor/block on the side you are building with forged piston and rods because you will break a ring land on the stock block. Its only a matter of time before the ring land butt ends. have about 2-3k for a build block the side.

From experience it was fun building it and making tons of power. Then without warning I am sure the ringland broke because cylinder 5 started to knock under high boost (over 5psi) for no reason. Couldn't tune it out and the engine would go lean

Listen to thisaznboi88, he knows his stuff. Totally agree with him; your best bet, just would be to buy a cheap honda & throw a turbo on it if you wanna have some fun. Keep your TL for looks & the other for "go"

Thanks!

I appreciate the info. I knew it would be at least 5 to 6 grand but 10! Gaaaudd dayuummmm! I guess in my mind I was thinking .....well turbo chargers have been more equipped in vehicles now a days such as kias.... Neons.... Etc. So with that mindset I'm thinking ok shouldn't be too too bad .... I know they're is a lot of piping that needs to be done. In all honestyI'm not even gonna front, I think I just want to have a turbo for 2 things.

1. To say that my car is turbocharged

And

2. To hear that Westgate /blow off valve while driving....

...its just more hype I guess for me.

In all reality, I know it would never be the fastest car out there because of the nature of the car itself. Because I wouldn't be building a TL for top speed.... I would much rather prefer a WS.6 TA.... For A real track car. Anyways... ALL IN ALL I just wanted the turbo build more for nostalgia more than anything else.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the info!

Find something that is AWD if you wanna turbo. I feel like traction and torque steer are already an issue with these cars, and I'm driving an unmodified base TL...

I have a 2005 Acura TL base 3.2 j32 engine. Have you thought about getting the 3.5 j35a8 engine from a type s? I'm looking into that for myself and then mod the j35 engine. Also torque steer is definitely an issue, even with my stock engine and CAI it has a lot of torque steer.

Good to know. I forgot to mention I was looking into the manual transmission as well, swapping the complete motor and trany together.
