Embarassment:

This site is an embarassment. The piss poor times from the TL, especially 5AT is starting to resound throughout the internet. This car is being embarassed by shitty drivers that have no business being at the track. The magazine times are not fallacy and they are not fantasy, get a clue before you waste time at the track and post a 15 second 91 mph trapping TL time.

I have had at least two long arguments with other forums because they find it too easy to quote the garbage that gets posted here. (Including the bitching about wear and tear that is part of owning the car)

I have owned many cars and am on many forums, and I CAN NOT believe the pathetic nature of the 3rd gen TL owners.

Sad.

Tell us a TL forum that is not pathetic then since you think this place is such a heap of trash. And is that why you have over 100 posts here? and please further enlighten me about why you posted this in parts and performance?

Who died and made you Pope? Haha.

Do you have an 5AT? Take it to the track. Looks like (to me) that the 5AT have tight converters or lower shift points, hence the slow track times.

Remember one of the magazines got 14.2@99 with a 6MT... Big difference.

Do you go to the track at all?

I have been busy but used to go every other week. I'm gonna take the TL after I do the CAI and see if I can get a 13.9.

Full second, who lied to you? Even if you take the best 5.6 0-60 time published the Auto should still fall faster than 6.6.

The point isnt if I went to the track, the point is these clowns going and pulling slower times than the last gen type-s's. Pathetic.

Uh-huh.... because the J32A3 is somehow vastly more improved than the J32A2 in the power department.

Stop bench racing on the Internet, you magazine racer. What the hell is the point of quoting other people's times and arguing about it with strangers? You obviously don't go to the track yourself; I have NEVER met a drag strip whore (I mean that in a nice way.. I am one myself) who is concerned about other people's times and arguing about those times with other people. Why? Because we don't do that; we know it's pointless.

Get a life and seriously stop bench racing. It's fucking gay.

So what is your point Steel? You have a 5AT or a 6MT? Go make some passes and give us your opinions. You are holier-than-thou when you bash folks, but you don't make any passes. Go ahead and hit the track buddy.

There are a lot of reasons why cars might not perform as well as a 6MT vs 5AT:
-Big difference in weight
-Tight torque converter
-Low shift points
-Different gearing

How fast are stock 2gen TLs anyway?

Hmmm...another thread whining about something...well, at least it's different, whining about the drivers as opposed to the car itself...still pretty sad...

From what I've read, most people here enjoy their car, whether they track it or not, if they run 14, 15, or 16 something, whether they make use of the tilt wheel, whether they cruise the local strip at 10 mph, etc. Point is, we all drive how we want and we enjoy it, and that's what it is all about - enjoying it.

So, if you want faster track times with a TL, you can do one of 2 things: mod the crap out of your TL or buy a Porsche and stick an Acura symbol on it.

Bring this up in Ramblings where this thread belongs. Plus you'll get a lot more opinions there.
