I looked a man in the eye and told him I wouldnt. Doug from hondata is a good man and I wouldnt cross him, even for money. But after hooking my car up to a computer and dynoing my car for a whole day, I can say this 274.1/244 hp/tq. this is with all my mods ,+ hondata- A+++

How much did this ECU flash cost you? Is this for the '05 TL?

NA,- but dont think you go to hondata and come out w/ 274 to the wheel. I also have ur pulley, ct lightweight flywheel, aem intake, comptech exhaust w/ resonator removed, outlaw tb and im spacers, hvs ground and voltage system.

But dont call them about it, its not released yet. And dont be jealous, Im sure i'll be jealous when they finally release a polished product. I was just 'prototyping'

Wow great power numbers, congrats, I'm jealous too.

Yeah he seems to be a manual N/A but with all the mods like the exhaust, cat, intake, etc. If he was F/I he would have at least 50 horses and 25 pounds of torque more with that flash, but who knows for sure..

I have a supercharged Automatic with all the mods and I only make 300hp and 240tq to the wheels. Hell, I can sure use that Hondata flash!

Was that using Hondata's dynapack dyno?

how long ago did you get this done? Any clue around how many more years it might take?
thanks.

Ok good. Just wanted to make sure your car was on the same dyno as mine.

Would love to find out also. When I dyno'd my car last week, I was told i could do this. The owner, who i trust, told me to wait until all my mods where done and then he would check the air/fuel ratio to see if he thinks there is much he can do to improve performance. However the E-Manage is not cheap, if he doesn't think their will be significant gains I will not do it.

The owner has alot of experience with this system and has used it successfully on other cars but not on a TL.

If anyone has heard anything on E-Manage can you please let me know.

I read somewhere here the the e-manage could be used, with the accord harness, but there is no wire for vtec control so it will engage at the normal RPM's (4850 i think)

You havent had any problems with the pressure plate? Are the TL's PP the same as the CLS, sice the clutches are? From my understanding, the UR pulley and a lightweight flywheel caused our PP to be destroyed because of the engine's harmonic going crazy without the dual mass flywheel and without the weight of our stock pulley. Just wondering if we have the same parts...

See, that's what I've read also. But for some reason, allmotor had his pp go out 3/4 times with his comptech flywheel and ur pulley setup in less than 300 miles each time, and the 4th time it was his clutch that broke, literally. So I was confused because the members on the 2nd gen side claimed for it to be the UR pulley causing this. I am still waiting on the UR flywheel to come in, and I am still going to test this theory out for myself.

I have gone throught 2 clutches since the dynoing, but I pulled off the pulley just about a month ago, they will fuck up the pressure plate, CONFIRMED!

How long ago did you have your car dynoed? How long did those 2 cluthes last? Did you destroy the PP as well when the cluthes went out? Did it happen under normal driving conditions or under load?

so pulleys wear out the clutch faster??? I've never heard of that before... that's on an 05 TL, tho, and I'm guessing you have a MT? does the same thing happen to 2gens??? That's kind of worrying because I don't have the money to be replacing my tranny every few years

Cocoa, I said that wrong. My clutch and flywheel held up pretty good both times. The pressure plates (stock) little sprung pieces of metal that the throw out bearing push against broke into a bunch of pieces and they stabbed into the clutch disk and all kinds of stuff. I have a thread with pics of the exploded pressure plate somewhere. And for sure, if you have the comptech flywheel, dont put that pulley on there- It will destroy the pressure plate somehow.

Bottom of page 1. Look at how the little metal chips bead-blasted the surface of the old pressure plate, and look close at the old clutch disk. Still had plenty of meat on it, but has pp schrapnel stabbed into it!

I remember reading that thread way back when... so as long as I don't have the comptech flywheel, I won't have pieces of my pressure plate (does an A/T even have one?) flying off into everything when I install pulleys, right?

now back to the ECU flash... I just got the next best thing from my dealership.. I'm starting to love that place more and more every time I go there... They replaced my tranny after it failed 1200 miles after the extended warranty ran out (I'd taken it in 3 times to 2 different stealerships before it did because I was suspicious, tho) and then after they replaced it under warranty, the CEL came on and turns out oil was leaking down into the spark plugs and ignition coils so they had to replace the valve cover gaskets, spark plug seals, and spark plugs. The battery was extremely low, too, so they replaced it and the total cost came out to under the original estimate, so I essentially paid $12 for a brand new battery... then on the last test drive, the CEL came on again (code P1399) and they replaced the ECU under the same warranty as the tranny... $900 in parts covered under the same goodwill warranty the tranny was... how sweet is that? I'd say it's the next best thing to an ecu flash, no? They're also the only dealership that gives me loaners (I'm 20)... they do diagnostics for free and at this point I get loaners when they're available (which is more often than not) when I take my car in and their loaners are nice... I don't care what other people think about the place, I love it because I get treated amazingly well there

I think the service rep felt bad for me when I told him I'd have to sell my car if I had to pay for replacing the tranny and so he did what he could and went out of his way to help me out

btw, cliffs notes to my previous post:
had my tranny replaced just after extended warranty ran out by dealership
took my car in for something else and got a brand new ECU thrown in
love my dealership
