EBC Redstuff or Hawk HPS

My front brakes are due soon. I know either one of these will be as good or better than original. Any opinions? EBC is a bit more but not much.

Which TL brakes? AT or MT?

I'd probably do the HPS or even better, the HP+ pads.

you wouldn't be disappointed with the Hawks. Both are good but the HP+ pads would make you lol

Actually, I'd recommend the STOPTECH Performance pads.

Similar dust and noise to the OE Brembo pad but better bite and better performance.

^^^ what Villo said...I have the HP+ and love 'em, but one disclaimer...they eat rotors, dust like crazy, and the dust can corrode...

i have the hps pads on the front since 28k mi...i'm at 56kmi...with plenty of pad left. they dont' dust nearly as much as the OEM pads. its takes a week to notice the dust vs an hour with OEM. as far as i can remember...the HPS pads perform the same to slightly better. again it's been a while since i changed the front pads. no noise from the front.

now the HPS pads on the back....squeal in reverse. might be that third tab that needs to get cut off causing the pad to do that.

no idea about the red stuff. though i read good things from other members running them.

Racing Brake ET-500 FTW bro. Installed these with a little permatex syn caliper grease and they've been super quiet besides the small sound during final second of a stop or initial foot off the brake after a stop. Innacurate describes this well. They dust less than OEM and brake, IMO, better than OEM. I expected these to make noise but I haven't heard anything and dust has been significantly less than OEM. They'll work well with OEM rotors.

Just one mans experience...

BTW, the only strange thing about the ET-500 pads are they don't have a wear indicator tab. I confirmed this with the company.

I put the EBC Redstuff and got their slotted rotors aswell all the way around. Been on for over a yr now and working great. No shudder at all and even at speed I don't seem to notice any real fade at all either.

This is on a base 2004 TL Automatic. This company seems to know what their doing.
