Dyno'd
I had the opportunity to dyno the car yesterday. It was fun! I had never driven a car on the dyno before and I really enjoyed it. I put down (corrected numbers on DynoJet) 227whp and 207wtq. The torque curve was super flat all the way from ~2200rpm up. Info:
2006 6MT
V1 j-pipe
test pipe
XLR8 resonated catback
intake resonator removed
I spent the rest of the day watching turbocharged and supercharged Cobalt's put down good numbers, including one that did 367whp, and a few others that were also over 300. Then a Shelby GT500 put down 586whp:

There is a video of the TL on the dyno, when it surfaces on the interwebs I will link that as well.

Oh hell yeah, I found the video. It's not much to watch, after you've seen the GT500.

Yeah, not sure about the j-pipe. I bought it on the Black Market basically for $50. PCD's are a maybe, but really I should just learn my lesson about trying to make power with this car and enjoy it for what it is.

thanks for posting, stvetc.
i've got the opportunitiy for a dyno run too...i may get one done before and after i install the v3 pcds. i'll see if i can get a backtoback package deal or something.
thanks for the reminder.

Agree with this! I have the S/C which i now feel i should have spent the money in a car that was worth the investment!

I have the RV6 V1 Jpipe as well. It's definitely hurting the potential being that it's not very free flowing. With another Jpipe, you'd probably dyno over be over 230/210, with a fatter low end.
Glad you enjoyed putting it on the dyno! I never got to be in the driver seat while dynoing

Yeah after being reminded of how much easier it is to make power with a turbo car (I used to have one), it becomes a little discouraging to mess with an N/A. Granted, the Cobalt's were making a lot more power but the TL fits my needs and looks way better IMO.
I didn't expect to be in the driver's seat, but I jumped at the opportunity. The guy was very cool and instructed me what to do.

^ Gotcha.. and your statement is supported by my dyno numbers.
Ack, the mustang put down 586/586. Look at the dyno graph at the end, it looks like only 1 line but HP and TQ are both charted, they're just about exactly the same. V8 FTW. And this was all in Pottstown PA, and organized by Backyard Turbo in East Stroudsburg.
