im sorry guys but dynoing any car under 400 hp is a waste of time and money
what for its slow any ways,5hp is not crap in real world
serves no purpose to do this, just wasting money
if you have a 10 second car ok i see that ,but ours cars are not drag cars or very fast,
the reason people do this is to find out if the a/f is in line, mostly for heavy modded cars, not no stupid tl with mufflers and filter
sorry to sound neg but this is a joke

also ,every dyno is different, depends on load set in machine and some old dynos dont account for load on car,so unless you dyno at same place is only way to see a diff in same car,and yes a six speed will dnyo with more hp then a auto trans
,,spelling bad but its called parasidic drag
autos are 20% and manuels are 15% after the flywheel,on average
factory rates cars with no a/c and only a water pump connected ,done by flywheel hp only
still wate of money, our cars have no real speed, real speed to me is a 12 second car or better
my 2 cents
taco bell you later lol

whatever floats your boat. thanks for everyones input.

i, myself, prefer driving/racing with turns....not the simple oval or just the straight 1/4 or 1/8 mile. road racing is my kind of racing.

i also just like seeing what my cars can produce. it makes my daily commute more enjoyable.

Check out the Temple of Vtec for 6mt and auto dyno #'s. I wont post there stuff because they would rather us not. They even dynoed an nsx when they tested there 6mt for comparison. You will need to register, so I didnt put links, but go to templeofvtec.net and click on the exhaust notes section, scroll to the bottom, they are on page 3 and 4.

Now if you read into these articles it would seem the j32 cuts back some power at 6200rpm if the engine temperature is a bit elevated. That is another reason we see a bit more inconsistancies in the dyno #'s.

thanks!!
if you check my post from early April when i posted my baseline dyno, i mentioned the article you mentioned from vtec.net. i also posted an email from Shawn Church who gave me some explanations why my dyno was somewhat low.

I would not worry much about the Air/Fuel ratio at this point. Drive the car with the mods for a couple of weeks to let the ECU relearn and then retest if you are concerned. The O2 sensors and ECU control low RPM A/F ratios. In other words, an increased volume fuel pump or tricked pressure regulator would not work unless it is spec'd beyond the parameters of the stock ECU. I am not sure about the new TL, but previous DOHC VTEC's were open loop "on the cam", where this car is runnng 12:1 (about right).

afr

The car is actually seeing around 13.5:1 which is right around perfect for a N/A application
you only venture into the 12:1-10:1 afrs under extremely high engine loads as in a supercharged or turbo application

Only 500 with 12 psi? That sounds like numbers from 1998. N/A Mustang with 520 rwhp and supercharged DOHC cobra with 600+ at 10 psi. And those cars were 4 years ago. It's all in what you like. I laugh at 500 rwhp in a mustang right now. My buddy made 500 with a crap shortblock rebuild kit, twisted wedge heads, a cam and a novi. That was crap laying around we just slapped together. Ran good till the block split in half, lol. Personally, I have more fun dynoing a 160 - 250 hp honda than a 500 hp mustang any day.

A 6 speed type-s will make about 245-250 HP, add about 5 HP for the CAI and another 10 HP for the catback. If the car is auto take another 15 HP out of the equation.
